Default Frustrated with frequent Matchbook problems? Let's do something about it!!

MB site has been going down too much lately. 3 times this week alone. Really frustrating!

I just got off the phone with them and was told that their system is old and needs upgrading, but that means shutting down the site for about a week.

I suggested that I wouldn't mind not playing there for a week if they could upgrade the system.

Then I was told that only way that will happen is that if enough people email them ( accounts@matchbook.com attn: Trading ),
and suggest them to upgrade their system.

If you have MB account, then let's get on it and let them know that we want the problem fixed.

I will not support this!! I can not have to play somewhere else for a week straight. that is a bad bad business decision.

I'm willing to bet that whoever told you that is probably clueless about their infrastructure. There is no reason it wouldn't be scalable.

The worst thing is that their CS tell you to contact their management to address any problems.
BUT YOU CANNOT TALK TO ANY OF THEIR SUPERVISORS ON THE PHONE, BUT ONLY THROUGH THE EMAIL!
Try it. you'll see what I mean.

sounds like a joke to me. the guys on the phone was just making excuse. If they are willing to spend $, I find it hard to believe you can't keep the old system running while preparing the new one at the same time. They should have multiple servers, main server and backup one.

Making up this kind of excuse is just like saying,'shut up and stop complaining, we are doing you guys a favor not to stop the system running for a whole week.'

Financial exchanges are doing system upgrade on regular basis.
Have you ever seen NYSE or NASD stop trading for even a day , let alone a week, to do system upgrade?

they were just making an excuse to defend there PR. I'm a CS guy and we all know you upgrade systems 12-6am 2-4 if you can be optimal about it because no one is up then. Luckily I havent had any issues with matchy, but man it's the best exchange out there for US.

Here's how my conversation with CS at MB went;

me; I'd like to talk to a supervisor about the problems the site's been having lately on frequent basis.

cs; Well, sir, you have to email us your concerns and we'll forward that to the supervisor.

me; Well, yeah, that's the same answer I got last 5 years, I want to talk to a LIVE person.

cs; Like I said, you have to email us with your problems.

me; You mean to tell me that there are no one that can answer our questions in person?

cs; You have to use the email, that's our policy, sir.

me; I'm tired of emailing you guys. I tell you what, I'm one of the members of the well known sports forums and from now on I'm going to tell other members to be careful about joining you guys.OK?

cs; Yes sir, just send that through the email.

That's when I slammed the phone down.

dude you don't have a right to be mad. If they had specifically screwed you somehow, then you would, but if your complaint is that "they suck in general" then you are free to leave, no one is forcing you to stay there. The cs person said exactly what he or she should have said, aside from "take your meds".

You're missing my point. Dude.

I've been recommending MB to others for years for their value, and made a ton of money with them. But,

How would you feel when you have 20K's in pending bets and in offers, and the site goes down with no warning. You don't know if you're bets are good or not.

If this happened a few times a year, I could live with it, but 2-3 times a month? Let alone 3 times this week?

And countless emails to them does not get responded or get resolved.

All I was asking from them was to talk to a LIVE PERSON who can answer some questions, but you always get that same answer, "email us please"

Is it wrong for me to expect their site to work properly and get live answers when needed? Especially when I play with 5 figure funds everyday?

i think the best time for them to do this upgrade is the week of the baseball allstar break .....thats 3days of no action .....so really your just looking at shutting down for 4 days ...

thats if it only takes them 7 days like specified above

Wtf do you mean by that?

Is it so hard to believe that some of us do have a large bankroll?

And bet on sports for a living?

Have not had a job for last 5 years. And yes, I did pay for my house with my winnings, but not the mansion.

I don't like sarcasms, OK, Saddam? Now go work on your 3 team parlay.
