    Default Jail Time???

I have been reading all kinds of post about the government will take this so serious that they will start prosecuting online gambler's to the extent that there could be jail or prison time involved. I'm not sure where people are getting this info b/c I searched all over the internet to find some law that says online gambling is illegal. i find stuff that says some states have laws but even then i can't find anything specific. I definitely can't find anything in the new bill or old laws that says i will go to prison. I'm guessing this is all a bunch of paranoia on the behalf of some people but i just can't see the government arresting 10 million americans and putting us all in jail and then having to pay for our meals!!! any thoughts???

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that the government will not put ten million people in prison due to a law that tells banks to try to put certain restrictions on their transactions with offshore entities connected to gambling.

Pretty cool when you think about it. Here are millions of US gamblers who, by their actions, tell the government to go f*ck itself. Civil disobedience on a large scale!

There must be an active, senior, threadstarting poster around here who can spin a few yarns involving incarceration.

    Where did he go?

All the government is doing is trying to eliminate funding accounts. If you cant send your money and you cant get paid you cant play.
There will be a way around this but its up to the books to figure that out.

No US federal law against betting online. There are laws against bookmaking and now banks and other transfer companies. But so far none against the bettors. You are not breaking any federal laws by placing a bet at a sportsbook.

If you continue to wager, I PROMISE you will go to jail. Even if you just post on this forum it is likely you will go to jail. I'll see you guys inside.

They are constructing special bettor's prisons as we speak.

Under the wire act you can get nabbed for placing a wager, a stretch but possible.

Many states it is illegal to make a wger on the internet

    Be careful

I was just contacted by Agent Morris from the San Francisco FBI field office. He told me that they have been investigating me via internet sniffing for about 6 months and that with my cooperation I can avoid jail time. He knew all of my account #s and read me off my last 20 bets placed.

I guess i should just do what he wants.

    Thoughts?

You should ask him if he played any of your action. If so, you expect prompt payment. Other than that you might want to advise him to pursue a course of activity that has a better chance to suceed such as:

Trying to lick his own asshole.

Agent Smith just made it impossible for me to speak, and a many-legged bug entered through my navel.
