Default Any Forum Owners Catering To American Players Watch Out

How many times do I have to tell anyone the USA gov't is going after everyone that promotes offshore betting to USA players.

I would pull out of America very soon, its going to get ugly.

Most forums also are finished as there wil be very few books advertising anymore

I feel the US goverment will go after portals at some point too coach. However, IMO site owners have roughly 2 years before somebody gets busted/raided/made an example of/ect,ect.

From the efforts i've seen SBR making right now to make there site "fed proof". I think they should be one step a head of the laws.

I did make mention of this what might happen over roughly 3 years ago in a post over at the OGD, if this law ever past.

The govt would take a mighty risky bet if they tried to prosecute a forum or odds site or handicapper or stats site, ect.

If they lost it would open up Pandora's Box. The DOJ has used the power of scare tacticts so far but never went to trial with anyone and for good reason.

The question is what exactly are these sites aiding and abetting? These are player sites and it is legal for Americans to place bets and thats a very key point. To aid and abet you have to have an underlying illegal activity. Until they make wagering illegal you will not see any of these secondary sites prosecuted imo.

i don't think they will make gambling illegal

they are probably gonna have US gambling sites down the road "backed by the government"

they will say it will be safer but it's just really the governments way of making sure they get theirs

Live links and affiliate deals are just a couple things John. If the feds want to bust somebody just to show people they mean bussiness they will.

Pags every forum I leave goes down the tubes and becomes ghost towns. I have proved that here, EOG and Major Wager. When sites making up ghosts everyday to generate traffic you know their done.

LMAO, Pags I am the best there ever was on a forum for sports info and non sports info. Sick Gambler is now second.

I do think some forums are going to be hurting. SBR has lost or taken down two sponsors already from the forum and lines. And the number of players will likely decline making ad space less valuable to sponsors.

The strong and those that can inovate will survive and prosper. Pretty much the way it should be anyway.

I guess then EOG and Majorwager in serious trouble, they just have forums and nothing else. At least SBR has ratings that are pretty accurate and a free live line service worth about $500 per month.

Most threads you started up are Shit and useless. I'm not sure if SBR is being generous for letting your candy ass roam around the forum or they pay you to post.

SBR forum was not a ghost town when you left. If you do a search. most post were about how happier they were when you left. JJ, I think you're an okay guy. But don't run that ghost town crap here at SBR forum.

We're here to share and learn and gather news on gambling industry. Unline yourself trying to scare everyone out of here.

I do miss the very old days when beantownjim and Sick Gambler would have a go at some of the books! The way in which those guys (of the books) would respond, made me aware of how much I just had to run run run from those places.

RX is the likely choice, might as well go after the biggest forum, if you're going to try to make an example of somebody.

Forums in general I wouldnt think would be a target. The public backlash on persecuting free speech in a format like a forum is almost unthinkable not to mention unwinnable for the govt.

Handicappers might top the list after sportsbooks because some of them are actively telling folks to bet so-and-so with so-and-so. We did see the DOJ go after scamdicappers who were telling their clients they had the referee paid off and the game was fixed. Those types seem like soft targets that the DOJ can go after and throw in fraud and get a plea bargain. I dont see them taking a big forum to trial, one that can fight back. The law is simply to unclear and the chance of losing and opening Pandora's Box is too great.
