    Default BetRoyal on new Law

    Dear XXXXX,

As you know, Congress has passed a Bill which prohibits the acceptance of any payment instrument for the use of internet gambling. As a result, our payment processor has, with immediate effect, ceased to process any payments for US residents. This may have resulted in your being unable to make any deposit with us and if so, we apologize for any inconvenience.

We are exploring other avenues to ensure that you can continue to play in our casino on an uninterrupted basis.

We will communicate with you again shortly.

    Kind Regards

    Julie

This is primarily a result of the casino software provider (Playtech) providing legal advice to their operations partners that the US market is unsafe. Those entities that continue to use the Playtech platform and operate in the US must make payment arrangements using a different processor than Ecash.

Most Playtech sites are small and do not have the capability to make these arrangements so they have no choice but to leave the US market. Most of the big boys will be staying, though.

FWIW, this was BetRoyal's unofficial response when my friend asked the other day:
No worries here with the new bill, people will always continue to gamble and they will find better ways to fund accounts.
    Is that not true?
