SBR John’s opinion on WWTS
In a word or two: Extremely disappointed
We have been in talks with the WWTS and will continue to be. In the meantime, we have pulled them off or will be pulling them off our sites as soon as humanly possible.
SBR recognizes these are difficult times. However, there is no legal reason to deny players access to their funds.
WWTS has shown utter incompetence with malice at the highest levels to arrive at a day where their players are denied access to their funds.

Sad shit. A few yrs ago they were rock solid and ran by a good bookie. Shit went downhill at WWTS along with his health.

I disagreed with WWTS being a safe book in that sticky thread some days ago
They lost me when they started slow paying via Neteller, they have been A+ way too long...sorry.

Appreciate your input on this matter, John.
I certainly hope the disappointment only turns out to be disappointment over their handling the transition to privatization (or whatever is coming) clumsily rather than disappointment that they stiff all their American customers. Time will tell.
Any chance we can get a summary of the make-up of this company? I remember they had an excellent reputation under Bill Scott and then went public awhile back, but wasn’t that some semi-fictitious thing where he was really still calling the shots or still majority shareholder or something? And although I guess their operations remained in Antigua, didn’t they in some legal sense become an Australian company? If so, are they in any meaningful way under Australian regulations. (Australia has the best sportsbook regulations in the world, including requiring their books to keep all customer money in verifiable trust.)
If the Scott regime will ultimately decide if this book will steal my money or not, and/or they come under Australian regulations, I would think there is reason to expect to get paid. Not that that would excuse delays and poor or dishonest communication and such, but in the end presumably everyone would get paid.
But I’m just going by what I vaguely remember reading or being told. Can someone who knows about this company maybe share relevant information about it’s structure and who’s in charge, and what that bodes for the future.
I believe this is also one of a very small number of books that JC has given a strong endorsement to, but I don’t remember if that was under other ownership or other conditions that have since changed, so I’d be interested if he chimed in at some point on this issue and what he expects.

I also started a thread here in May or June on how they should be downgraded. Anyone who played there should have seen this coming. Glad I pulled my money then.

I hate to rip books, but they need to be downgraded for these latest actions IMO

Yes there is. If WWTS is potentially insolvent , then it is illegal , under UK law, for the company to repay any funds. As the company is registered in the UK they have to abide by these rules.

We have been in contact multiple times with the WWTS CEO today right up until he boarded a plane for the UK. We appreciate him taking our calls by the way.
We can not get into what we might know about any deals. But we will continue to insist that players have access, immediate access to their funds. No ands, ifs or buts, access needs to begin by the morning, UK time.
The executives who have made these decisions must reverse this decision or be held liable and their careers in this industry will be over. This disgrace to their honor and careers must never be forgotten if this decision is not immediately rescinded.

But i agree of course that this are dangerous times, there are only a handful books that can be really trusted.
I hate to keep my funds low in a book like Trojan, but i wouldnt feel safe with more than a few k there anymore.

VERY LAME
Was the ink even dry on the paper when these assclowns decided to do this??
I have no open wagers in that shit hole, But they are telling me they may break the law and can't send me my money!!
I really hope they do the right thing here. If they do not want to conduct business with Americans that is fine, but atleast give us back our money.
This pretty much sucks.

Bigloser and TLD and others,
I’m not able to provide details to some of your questions that we may know due to it being received in confidence. I apologize for that. I think we can remain a voice with direct communications with the book if we maintain our level of professionalism. We will continue to press this issue you can be assured of that.
What we can discuss is the net effect which is freezing players balances. It doesn’t really matter why, its still wrong. I would hope other sites will immediately remove their banners and we can be unified on this issue.

Thanks SBRJohn for letting us all know what is going on here with WWTS. I have a friend that had an account with them but he pulled his money out last year after football season. I will make sure I don't even think about opening an account with them now.

Well if this is not a sign that the days of betting online are numbered I don't know what is...an A+ book not taking American players anymore.
To all of you who vote Republican....thank you very much for the wise choices you made in voting religious lunatics into office. Say what you want about Liberals but they don't give a **** about this issue and if this was a liberal Congress rest assure we would not be having these threads.... I know SBRJohn you are a big Bush supporter.....I find it ironic that he is helping to ruin/severely weaken the industry you monitor. Boy...i am sure you wish you had a chance to recast your vote.

From what I've seen, only publicly owned books (legal!) are having to adjust their angle. WWTS showed utter incompetence by waiting too long with, what I imagine is, privatizing the US-share of their market; as other books in similar positions already have.
They could have avoided this drama by simply allowing US players to withdraw their funds, and only 'freezing' their ability to place wagers until further notice. On the other hand, the fact that they want to keep that money in the house suggests, -assuming that they are handling in good faith-, that they have a solution on the horizon.
Staying tuned...

Not to get political but name one Dem Senator who voted against the bill or tried to remove the Gambling part out of the bill.
If you say the Dems didn't know it was in the bill then that is a reason not to vote for them either.

Hey dumb **** do you realize what the term "sign" means.....I am making reference to the industry as a whole. A few hours ago WWTS was rated an A+ and now they are closing shop to American customers. So i guess by your standards this is a positive sign then for American players......
By the way...don't ever suggest my post as "crap of the day." See how many posts I have and how many you have....now do yourself and everyone on here a favor and leave.

Sorry I didn't realize you were a religious lunatic who loves the Republican Party. I guess we have a Republican apologist here with us....
Bro...not to say that you are a moron but you are. Dems didn't stop it b/c it was attached to a port security bill...with elections coming up you think they are going to criticize a bill that talks about homeland security....
Who sponsored the bill? Republicans...who have been pushing for the bill from day 1? Republicans....Who believes this is a moral issue that must be regulated? Republicans.... You get the picture if you have a half a brain.
Also...look it yourself you should be embarrassed. You are sitting here on a gaming forum placing bets which i presume you like to do....and the REPs want to stop you and you are defending them. Are you that brainwashed by them....but the standard response it's the DEMS fault.

I think these totalitarians want total control. And 12 billion a year (6 billion from US and rapidly growing) doesn't fit that bill. They want to know where your dollar is, when and where you earned and when and where you spend it. Offshore loopholes are reserved for the likes of Halliburton...
The neocons would turn this into a police state in an instant, if they could. Another 'terrorist' attack might just do the trick.
Torture, indefinite imprisonment without a right to trial, aggressive wars, ruling by fear, wire tapping of citizens, you do the math.
V for Vendetta.

I requested my neteller withdrawal yesterday very early in the morning. I think I know what they are trying to do. They need more time to find the best excuse for not paying people and STEAL their money!
FUKKING THIEVES!
These bastards are worse than BOS!
Nicole Griffith: until further notice, it will not be possible for US residents to place wagers or make deposits on, or make withdrawals from, any website owned or operated by any company in the Betcorp group. This account freeze will remain in place until such time as Betcorp has fully assessed its legal position.
ME: Well, thats not a smart answer to tell your customers.
ME: You should at least tell me when I am going to get my funds
Nicole Griffith: Unfortunately I will not be able to give you an answer as to when your funds will be available to you

It was a Republican bill.. That it was attached to a bill concerning nationa security meant it had to go through.

you are right Sam...this is totally the DEMs fault. Everything is the DEMS fault. The DEMS pushed the anti-gaming provision of the bill....you have your history correct. Let me guess there are WMDs in Iraq too I guess some people will believe anything they are told.
