    Default Sportingbet Cancels Pending Wagers

Sportingbet has closed their US accounts, following the lead of fellow UK books Bet365 and StanJames. Unlike those reputable shops, all pending wagers at Sportingbet have been cancelled. In the MLB pennant and WS markets, they've collected all of the losing bets and then cancelled the pending winners. This is nothing short of theft.

I just had A's pennant odds $400 for $3400. So that's nice to know.

How does Hollywood go from a top five book in the world in March (when I put the wager in), to the sh*tshow they are? Unbelievable.

Do we have a list of the Sportingbet books that:

    a. Have closed to Americans,

    b. Have gone private to stay open to Americans but have closed to certain non-Americans due to a non-compete clause, or

    c. Currently haven’t decided or are in some other status?

My only accounts are at SportingbetUSA and Superbook, and my understanding is they both fit in Category b.

(And as far as the topic of this thread, obviously to cancel all pending futures is bad. To cancel the futures that are still alive while keeping the money from the futures for the teams that have already been eliminated is much worse.)

Yes, although the Bill obviously has a bearing on the actions they don't seem to be handling it very well. If they want to cancel all bets and futures then fine. But if they've got a future liability then they should pay out that future based on current market prices i.e. if you had a 50-1 bet on the Tigers to win the WS and the current price is 2-1, then pay out the difference between 50-1 and 2-1 and leave it at that.

These are the actions you might expect of BoS, hopefully Sportingbet will see the eror of their ways and come to a more favourable arrangment for the punters.

I'm from the US with a sportsbook.com account via the Paradise Poker skin, and my pending futures were cancelled and the risk amount refunded to my Paradise Poker account.

    Yet more complaints comming in

    11.11.2006 (01:28 AM CST)

Sportingbet (SBR rating D+) and SportingbetUSA (SBR rating D+) users complain of deleted pending future wagers. Prior to Sportingbet transferring account balances to Superbook.com, some bettors reported disappearing pending bets. While management has agreed to reinstate wagers for many of these account holders at sister sportsbooks, reports of canceled bets continue. Players who have had a pending wager canceled at a former Sportingbet property are invited to contact SBR.
