Default Which sport will fold first: NHL or NASCAR?

These two sports are unbearable to watch in the US.

I'm curious what's unbearable to watch about hockey? I hope they'd open the game up a bit, but it's still easier to watch than any other sport. (except soccer of course)

Nascar is huge and seems to sellout all of their races. Hockey is great to watch at the arena, but I don't like to watch it on tv. A few teams are struggling in the NHL and can't make money but league won't fold. If there's any league that should fold it's the WBA.

NASCAR, easily. NHL is healthy in most markets and doesn't really need the big TV money. Most forms of auto racing are facing a grim future.

NASCAR has a lot more expenses

Relies on sponsorships and business are cutting back because it is expensive to sponsor a NASCAR team

Exactly...average of 150,000 people at every race. Better ratings than the nba playoffs and probably 2nd overall sports ratings behind nfl.

That is hurting the smaller teams a bit...Nascar has already started to take a stance on cutting expenses as it is. The new car is cheaper to run than the older ones and 1 car can be taken to a wider variety of tracks.

I like most all sports. I don't really understand why we cannot Respect others for what they enjoy. I envy those who get enjoyment from things I do not. I want people to be happy where I fail to be.

This is from a business point of view. Which one will fold first meaning going out of business. Has nothing to do if you love watching the sport as a fan.

NASCAR is the most viewed sports in the US. More so than even football.

it's incredible how the U.S. think totally different than Canadians.. if you came north of the border here in Canada, you wouldn't see 1 house not having the game on.. everybody was watching this.. Canada loves hockey..

I just saw TSN, a canadian sports network, and the 1st 16 min of the sports news was all game 1 highlights, interviews, summaries, etc....

if this was FOX, probably would have mentioned hockey after all the baseball and basketball highlights, and probably for like 12 seconds at the end of the telecast.

    what a difference in countries..

Major league soccer will go long before either the NHL or nascar. Major networks aren't lining up to broadcast soccer. Nascar takes in huge profits, lot of rednecks I guess. Hockey is popular in the north (not Arizona) but would fail before Nascar.

Tough question from business standpoint, but I will go with NHL assuming I have to make a choice. I am losing interest in NASCAR, but it is a GREAT day for the 100,000 plus who attend a full live day (weekend) AT the track each week. Very enjoyable, more so than a 3 hour party at an NHL game, IMO. And an NHL game is grea live also I believe.

Almost all sports these days seem better on tv. Except maybe baseball. They pump all the obnoxious music and fake noise at the arena. It's only worth it if you get in one of those boxes with free beer and chicken wings.
