Some Gambling Terms
Loan Shark= Another form of a bank loan without all the paperwork and waiting times. The transaction can actually be done within a few hours time. The cash does have a price though of high interest so I would reccomend being in a position to pay off the loan very quickly.
Parlay Wheel= A parlay in which you key one team with multiple teams. Example Team A with individual Teams B,C,D,E .
Runner= A man usually between the ages of 25-40 that collects or pays out winnings on behalf of a bookmaker to the player. The runner usually meets the clients at public places.
Store= Another term for a bookmaking office.
Barreled In= Huge gambling loses, tough to get out of the hole
Fur Man= A guy that fronts a bookmaker cash to run the business, also known as a backer.
Walking Bookmaker= A bookie that only takes bet in person and writes action down on a piece of paper. There is ZERO phone activity and a very low risk of legal trouble. The player usually asks for a line and the bookies quotes him.
