Default Remember your 1st BOOKIE ?

He was a degenerate gambler and only took the peeps the real bookies didnt want to fool with. Earl was his name.

I was a senior in HS around 1970. Earl's limit was $300.00 and all bets had to end in a zero. Earl didnt want to do the math using cents. My avg bet was $20.00

I think it was more fun back then.

Oh ya, I remember mine. Good ole Simoni. The man who got busted for taking high schoolers action, because he didn't listen to his dads advice on cutting him off and seeking payment. What really sucked was the fact that he owed me $2800 that week

pags, I did not bet in a legit book for years, then it was only when I was on vacation. I think the Dunes in Vegas was the 1st.

Caesar's and The Tropicana were the first 'real books' to get my business. My pop wasn't a real bookie, but he used to steal my allowance back from me when I was a kid. He won't bet with me anymore these days.

The Dunes had a cool restaurant on top of her. I cannot remember the name but seafood was the main attraction.

The Dunes had that old time 'Mob' look inside.

At a local book when I was under 21. They booked the bet with out checking ID, but just in case they did when I went to cash, I had my friend that was over 21 go cash it for me.

turf club booted me out after about 6 months...18 year old kid took them for over a $1000...not much, but they were still pissed...they didn't mind me being underage when I was first betting with them, they were happy to try and take my money...
