    Default BetTrojan

I see that SBR initiated at a "C" yesterday.

John (or others here), is there any more information that you can provide on this shop? Are they in fact backed by TopCat (SBR rated C+)?

    Thanks.

maybe sbr rating of a C+ might have something to do with the switching over from a credit shop to a post up shop.

I do know that TopCat is an outstanding credit shop, well established, without blemish and their affiliation with Bet Trojan can only be a positive.

SBR Bill Dozer reports: BetTrojan, a new sportsbook from TopCat Sports (SBR rating C), receives rating of C. TopCat’s focus has been booking to credit players but has offered service to depositing bettors during the past two years. The book’s history of quietly operating without player complaints has resulted in an above average initial rating for their new post-up site although SBR believes it is unlikley that the book will be able to maintain its current model consisting of reduced juice and large bonuses.

It was brought to our attention earlier that having pennies on the website was very important to most people.

Just an update to everyone who has noticed pennies is not working yet. It is a software issue and I fought tooth and nail to get the guys in tomorrow morning to fix it.
Unfortunately this will take the site down from 7am pacific to 10am pacific.

Thanks for everyone’s feedback, it's much appreciated.

I really liked the way Bet Trojan handled this problem, upfront and took care of it quickly. I am giving them a look, could be an excellent place to play.

As you probably read since yesterday, we did confirm with TopCat's GM, Mike, that ownership is identical.

This is really the book's second attempt investing in their Post-up. Topcat gave it a try a few years back before realizing that post-up was a much different animal and they needed to make some adjustments.

TC Sports now has a nice foundation set for Trojan but I'm willing to bet these 2k bonuses at -105 are gone before the end of football. That is just a personal guess.

Hopefully they can find their niche. You have to root for the discount shops.

I agree. I think they could get by with either the bonus or the -105. Not sure why they would do both, but pretty much impossible to make money that way. They are smart group so I figure they eventually will make a choice, but I have no doubt they will pay.

We are exposed right now you are all right. The 20% is promotional and will only last for 1 or 2 more weeks tops. We will then go to a 10% daily and adjust our rollover accordingly.

They limited some players to $500 bets yesterday under a wiseguy rule. I would rather they cut back on bonuses and offered to take everyone at their full 2k limits, but most books have to have some way to limit the impacts of sharps. At least they are still taking action, just not at same level.

With -105, I think this book is great out for almost any player. You can find safer books with bigger operations, but this group has an almost decade trackrecord of payouts.

Its a great site. I'll hate to see the bonus disappear, but with the lay -105, and super fast payouts. I'm sure they will retain a lot of thier customers.

Mike, do you think you can increase the font size on the confirmation tickets. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be.

Those bonus rules are a bit confusing...why not keep it simple?
Also "the lower of the 2 numbers in a wager" counts as rollover = pure bullshit...

Rollover = what you put on the table, when will some books realize that? If you are scared of your own bonuses, make it a 7x rollover.
Its not 5x with this rule...

You're all entitled to your own opinions. I've been running a credit shop. When you play credit, you say for 100 and you get 110 for one. It’s just so much easier using the bet amount, so I thought.

I’ve also stressed to read the rules before you post, you don’t like the rollover or call it 7 times, you don’t have to post up. No hidden text no fine print, I’m laying it straight out for everyone to see. I do not like surprises and so far have had none.

Tell you what, when this 20% promo is over. The following bonuses will have a risk amount rollover. That's a promise.

Didn’t expect good feedback from a guy called bonusman king. We all know what you're looking for and we do not want people hunting for bonuses. We want to offer a nice bonus to let people see how we operate. A customer that might stick around for a while. KEEP IN MIND YOU'RE LAYING -105 AND WE ARE EXPOSED WITH THIS OFFER.

Not a good idea to get in a flame war pal. I at bonusman have advertisers that give 10% bonus and 5% vig! Not all bonusman viewers are looking for bonuses in the signup area and many like lower vig shops.

I'm not sure whats with your attitude but you should reconsider thinking bonus hunters are bad or you will be eliminating 90% of the gambling public.

I personally thought your bonus promotions are good and with -105 vig that's a great thing to offer. I personally think you went on a limb going into the "public" and not sticking with your credit shop. I wish you luck

Hope everyone had a nice $$ weekend.

Just wanted everyone to know that around 2 years ago I played with Topcat and Mike is a class act. When it was said and done, I won BIG with them and they ALWAYS paid. I would think they know what they are doing over there with BetTrojan and might play again as a post up player this time.

Mike: i agree, everyone can chose if he wants the bonus or not.
Also you dont want bonus hunters to play with you, thats ok.

What i ment is just: keep it simple for the players that like your book, and like to get a bonus.
You know that rollover is the risk amount, thats why almost all big sportsbooks dont even post this rule.
All that Cris tells you f.e. is: "5x rollover", and its set.

You might scare away players with that rule, read through the threads about bonuses on this or on other forums - you will notice that many guys say "screw bonuses, i get confused with all those rules".

    Peace
