Watching Astros get their asses handed to them by the Rangers, truly think Texas will reach 10 runs in this one. Having a 'margarita shrimp salad' for dinner. That's about it for now.

I can't stand the shapes of the bottles that beer comes in these days.They really aren't the typical returnable long necks from yesteryear.I liked those because as late as the early 90's in nearby Superior,Wisconsin I used to get it for $3.49 a case.I bought 20 cases at a time.All the semi defunct beers like Hamm's that were top shelf at one time were sold in label name only to other brewers and they then sold the beer cheap in long neck returnables.

I used to love Old Milwaukee bottled beer when they sold it in those sort of hand grenade shaped bottles.The beer just tastes better when it comes from certain style bottles and when they change the shape,there goes the taste.Maybe it's the aeration or ionization of the carbonation or how fast a skinny bottle gets warm in your hand.

Never liked the Mickey's big open mouth bottles.You could never get a good flow going.

The new aluminum bottles are kind of neat.

Geesh,I sound like a real girlie man complaining about the shape of bottles.Hell,any beer is good beer.I even drank all the ales when I was in England and they might as well just call some of that crap oatmeal.You can stand a spoon up in the stuff.Harsh but a buzz is a buzz.I live somewhat near Chippewa Falls,Wisconsin and Leinenkugel's Brewery.They are getting pretty yuppyish and trendy with alot of varieties of beer like Honeyweiss and berry flavored.Women love the stuff!That is one of the neatest welcome tour centers of breweries in the country.It's like an old hunting lodge.I have been to a ton of brewery welcome centers.Coors in Golden,Colorado is neat.They claim Coors gets their water from the nearby sewage waste disposal aquafer?The Bud brewery in New Hampshire is neat where it's like a castle and the Clydesdales are stabled there.I don't even drink Bud but if it's free I will.hehe!Lots of casinos in Laughlin won't even sell it because Mc Cain's ties to it and his anti gambling views,Jesse Jackson getting a sweetheart deal for his kids and Roger Marris losing his distributorship in Florida.The Imperial Palace's late owner Ralph Englestad and Don Laughlin were buddies with Marras who was from right where I live because they are from here too. If you ask for a Bud,the bartender gives you a dirty look and says,we don't sell that crap here.Even though Englestad is dead,he gave the University of North Dakota a state of the art arena under the terms they never change their name from the Fighting Sioux.Now they want to change the name.It will be very interesting to see how that works out.

I live 3 miles from the lake where the old Hamm's commercials were filmed and lighted signs portray.Remember the,From the land of sky blue waters song?An ex NHL goalie named Karakas was given a Hamm's distributorship here and absolutely everyone drank it here.It's sad how those traditions just vanish.

I got a jrunk college story about Old Milwaukee myself. I could get OM for 95¢ a six-pack when I was a freshman in college. I was one of the few freshmen living on campus then that had a fridge. So I'd buy it for 95¢, sell it for 45¢ a can, found it to be an incredible way to earn money my early days in college. Financed my drug, gambling and hooker habit in those days. Well, not really.
