In the end youre better off not betting at all and getting your bankroll back to a level where you can keep betting the same size than you are lowering bet sizes.
But if you started out with a bankroll in the first place, played a sound strategy and used even nominal money management and still lost enough to feel the need to lower your bets sizes, then you might want to quit gambling anyway.

Reduce your # of plays or if you can't do that just bet points or chicken feed on most of the plays. Only bet big boy money when you really feel you have found a good spot, which you seem capable of doing from time to time.

JJ you seem to wager around $1000 a day.
$100 here and a $100 there.
Here is my advice. Reduce the # of plays by a TON
Pick maybe 3 to 5 games PER WEEK and go about $500 per game
Maybe even 1,000 to 2,000 per game of only betting a few times per week.
Stick to what you are good at and that is "spot betting"
Seems every day you are picking atleast 5 games to bet on.

I agree. Kelly is made far too mysterious. In essence, it says look at the expected yield ($ netted vs. $ risked) of any bet source...and bet TO WIN that % of your bankroll. That would be a full-Kelly bet...safer would be a fractional Kelly...a 1/5 Kelly (1/5 the growth rate, yes...but much better than 5x LESS likely to crash) bet made from a pick that has a long-term 5% yield track record would be TO WIN 1% of your roll.
