Default Too Easy to Move the BetCris Line!

for such a big book, it amazes me how I can bet a dime on a baseball game about an hour before the first pitch and that dime will actually move the line from about .05points. I just made a dime bet on the alternate run line and the line went from 1.45 to 1.4 after i made the bet. it just seems weird b/c a dime bet at pinnacle won't even phase the line the majority of the time. not a problem at all i just find it weird that a dime will influence the line. i guess it was the alternate line but still...

most people do not bet the alternate rl therefore a $1000 bet will move the line

also because Cris has 20cents line and not many people play there.

They do move easy though, they were moving FIBA lines a full point off of $500 bets by me back in August

Very true. Not many educated gamblers play CRIS for baseball.

Max limit nickel bets at Pinnacle (strikeout props) will also move the line quite a bit.

you're right Pags, I guess it is more of an ego thing!!!! Makes me feel like I got them for a good number. Ya, i don't normally play baseball at CRIS but the line i wanted was 1.45 at Cris and 1.41 at Pinny.

If you bet the max on anything, it is likely going to move the line significantly.

Higher juice sometimes allows the book to move more quickly, but in some cases it makes the linesmaker lazy and they don't move at all.

I also think books look at who the wager comes from and then the size in terms of moving the line...

Not for alternate RLs or props. They auto move, imo.

possibly owned, especially at night and high times during the day...opinionated books (like Cascade) definitely look at who the actions coming from with sides and totals...

Well just tonight, when I hit the Devils ML at +122, it moved down to +115. I think it was just the fact that late money was coming in on the Devils at the time. But it did look like I moved it.

    This was at Pinnacle.

I moved a A's runline at a Station Casino when I bet it for the max. That was about 2 years ago I think it was.

Those are the only ones I remember, or noticed.

Do you think you are the only one making a bet on that game at that time? They have a few customers, last I checked.

Woo Hoo! I just moved the line at Pinny (SBR A+) by 1 cent and by 5 cents at Skybook (SBR A-). It's the very first time I've ever seen my wager affect a line.

    Default get real

there is no way to know whether your 500 or 1000 was the reason the line moved
there may have been another 10 or 100 players hitting the same line in the same time frame
or one truly big player or respected player hitting your line

No way? Way! Don't think that there's too many punters asian handicapping on Reading vs. Chelski, but I could be wrong.

    ourbet,
obviously I'm not talking about or remotely interested in your small market example.
I'm talking about big, high action markets, which is the example being discussed.
