I use 5 Dimes for betting on tennis. 5 Dimes is one of the few sportsbooks that takes action on tennis. Pinnacle has the most action on tennis but they won't let you parlay tennis like 5 Dimes. 5 Dimes also lets you take and give games on most matches in addition to doubles, challengers and many prop. bets. If you love betting on tennis, 5 Dimes is the sportsbook for you. Several months ago, they changed their software and I noticed many negative changes that have taken place. Previously, you could review all your wagers for the past 4 months. Now, you can only review your graded wagers for the past week. This is a horrible change that make it impossible to grade your performance over the course of time unless you keep good records. Another change I have noticed is that all wagers stand regardless of whether or not a match is completed. In tennis unlike other sports a player can retire for one reason or another. Usually, when a player retires, the wager is cancelled and in setsbetting the match must be completed in it's entirety for all wagers to stand. Generally, in a parlay, if one match is determined by a retirement, all the other matches should be graded as straight wagers. I recently wagered $100.00 on a 8 match parlay that was paying more than 6 to 1 odds. Because one of my players retired in the 2nd set, 5 Dimes ruled that event as a loss and the parlay was graded as a loser. In addition, 5 Dimes does not publish what their rules are for various sports. They do not publish what constitues a win, loss or tie. They just assume everyone should already know this. Every sportsbook has their own rules for each individual sport and usually posts their rules on their site. I love all the action that 5 Dimes has but their recent changes to their site makes me reluctant to place wagers with them. Just curious if anyone else had problems with them.

OWNED is exactly right. It's very important to know the rules of the book where you are placing your tennis bets.

It's particularly important if you're arbing. Arbing tennis between books with different rules can add a lot of unwanted drama to your plays at times. Sometimes that drama is very pleasant and sometimes it is disastrous.

For me the software changes are a mixed bag.

I cannot log in with Internet Explorer or any other IE-based browser like Maxthon. (I just called them about it again yesterday. They said they know of a few customers who can’t get in with Internet Explorer but most can, and that they don’t know what the problem is, but in any case they are through with the software changes so there won’t be anything done from their end to fix it.) The site times out about equally as fast as before, which is to say it remains awful in that regard. I don’t like that you have less control over the layout; for instance you used to be able to specify that you only wanted this, this, and this bet type to display. There also seem to have been some offerings dropped in the transition, including their reduced juice specials for football TV games.

By far the most positive change is the speed. Especially at crunch time the site used to routinely be super slow, and pretty often non-functional entirely. They were an utter joke in that regard for years. Since the change the site has never been down for me, and only two or three times has it been slow. And it was “slow” meaning it went maybe 25% the usual speed, not 1%-2% the usual speed like in the past.

fivedimes is above average at best...have never seen a book do a layout upgrade and then the layout's even worse...

Average book, I would not want to be in there when the ban takes place though, stick to the bigger books.

This rule is published in their rules. Everybody who bets tennis regularly knows that 5dimes always grades once 1st set is completed.

only good thing about them is the variety of betting options...they let you bet a lot of I-AA football games...
