Default WWTS is Another Book Now Requiring ID

Be prepared to wait awhile if you withdraw from WWTS. They turned down my withdrawal request yesterday, and when I called they said they now require a photo ID. They claimed they sent an e-mail to that effect in August, but I never received anything of the kind.

I e-mailed a scan of my drivers license to them yesterday. I called today to try my withdrawal again, and again they wouldn’t accept it. They said my ID apparently hasn’t been processed yet as there is still a block on my account. They said it can take 24 to 48 hours after they receive the ID to unblock withdrawals (why? how long does it take to check a box in my account or whatever someone has to do once they open my e-mail and see the ID?), so I should check back again tomorrow. I asked if they had in fact received my e-mail, and they sort of said yes, but it was more like “I’m sure we did if you sent it” like they were inferring. Unfortunately the people you can speak to apparently aren’t the shadowy people actually processing the ID, so they can only guess and recite the standard procedure; they can’t tell you specifics about where your case stands in the processing.

I expect I’ll get my withdrawal some time later this week, probably the day after whatever day they unblock my account, since they tell me their work day ends at 9:00 AM Pacific time and I doubt I’ll be up and functional by then to try another withdrawal request. But anyway, if you need your money promptly, don’t expect to be able to get it from WWTS if you haven’t yet gone through this ID processing with them.

They made me jump through the same hoops in July for a withdrawl. I took out all my money from them since. They are a 2nd tier book at best now anyway.

I believe every member of the WWTS family requires a photo ID for first cashout. I had to do it too, but that was over a year ago. I agree that they are at best a second tier book at the moment.

never got the photo id request e-mail too. But I rather go through all the inconvenience of photo id, security check and what not if that what it takes for my money to be withdrawn only by me.

A lot of people think this and I understand but am always suprised.

The very last people you should be wanting to send the most ultimate IDs you have to are offshore, unregulated bookies.

This stuff is manna from heaven for fraudsters and folk cheerfully send it off to god knows who.

If someone hacks into your betting account is is due to the bookie having bad security period. Nothing to do with sending in passport copies, birth certificates, drivers licences or whatever.

They should run a secure system where noone can hop into your account.

isn't BetWWTS an Australian company publicly traded on their Stock Exchange? I wouldn't send pictures off the back of my CC though. You never know how many people have sniffers and packets interceptors just waiting at the gates of books that request this. Driver's license should be ok.

Oh, if its an Aussie book then they always take ID.

psycho ... the problem isnt just interception.

Its the bookies staff/owners. The employees have total access to all your stuff ... and these guys havent usually made a career choice to sit in a bookies taking calls.

With a ciopy of someones passport, drivers licence, etc together with their CC numbers, bank account number, address, etc etc ... you can do a lot on the internet with that stuff.

I only play minimally there, like a $25 bet on MNF for their contest, never found great value in their lines.

All my transactions have been Neteller. My last withdrawal was February, 2006. Nothing was mentioned about ID at that time.

They acknowledged receipt of my ID last night and I resubmitted my withdrawal request. No sign of it yet, but they did say it can take up to 48 hours. I expect it’ll get done tomorrow.

what's up with some books now requiring a power bill or something like that?...don't you think that's a little ridiculous?...

Hmm. I withdrew from there about 2 weeks ago to neteller (first and only withdrawal, i suspect) and they didn't ask me for ID.

I've had to send a copy of my driver's license to three or four places so far over the years. I haven't had to send a utility bill that I recall, though I've read about that in the forums. Must be to counter fictitious accounts of people who are bonus scamming and such.

I think for most books, that's the case...I still think these are steps scam books make you go through so they can hold off on paying you...
