Default Pinnacle's Response to the Safe Port Act (i.e., to make online gambling illegal)

    Dear Sir,

    Thank you for your email.

We are aware of the recent action by Congress to pass the Safe Port Act which includes certain provisions to limit the growth of Internet gaming through the restriction of payments to gaming companies. This bill does not expressly make Internet gaming illegal, nor does it look to target players who enjoy gambling online. Instead, it seeks to prevent online players by restricting the methods bettors can use to fund their Internet wagers.

Pinnacle Sports is licensed by the Government of the Netherlands Antilles and in our licensing agreement it is a legal requirement that we maintain
sufficient funds to be able to honor the winnings of all of our customers at anytime. Pinnacle Sports has earned an industry leading reputation for
providing the quickest payouts online and you can rest assured that your winnings will always be paid. You will continue to have access to your
    funds 24/7.

Pinnacle Sports encourages all clients to consult with an independent legal advisor or their local attorney general's office as to the legality of online gaming in their area.

Pinnacle Sports has active customers from more than 100 different countries worldwide and we remain committed to providing a safe, secure
and rewarding online gaming experience for all of our players.

    Regards,

A pretty vauge response. But coming from Pinnacle I am comfortable with it. Books that make their money just booking bets and are good at it will always survive, is the other 90% I worry about.

Question Not the answer I was looking for

I agree with all that was said about Pinny. However, it didn't help my worries. It is not Pinny that I am concerned with it is Neteller. Aparently I was told it's share has dropped 60% is that TRUE?? Is out money safe left with Neteller?

All will respond like this until a major book owner gets locked up which is going to happen within 6 months and they will close out all Americans.

Uhhh - that form letter said DICK.
Read it again about the part where YOU have to 'consult' with your local laws.
While Pinny pwnz for it's -105, sick payouts and sicker uber-fast lines - it's still breaking the law when this bill is passed.
To be honest, if you think pinny is fighting for you, the USA player - read the form letter again.
it says NOTHING that helps you, really...
At least it doesn't refer to you as a 'revenue stream' like the Pokerstars or Party form letters state.

Also, if you want a "good" formed response, google WSEX's formed response. It's the only one I've seen so far that made me believe...

agreed! It is the clamp down on third party payment processors, i.e **********, netteller, etc., that will kill online U.S. Sports betting. Will be left with option of waiting for bank draft from Netherlands in 3 weeks to get paid and how long do you really think U.S. banks will be taking these without reporting to Sam. Cashing out in 10 days then I am back to my "friendly" bar owning bookie....
