I sent this book 5K, when I logged in to my account I see I was charged $145

Their web site says:

Deposit fees will be covered on deposits of $300 or more unless the customer has a make up figure.

What is a make up figure??
I asked their customer service person on live chat this question:
If I sent you $2500 and play at your book and 4 months later my balance is only $2000, you offer one free withdrawal every month..are you telling me if I withdraw my balance which is $2000 then I have a makeup figure of $2000???

So everytime you withdraw even if you are a LOSER next time you deposit by neteller Looselines will charge you 2.9%

Magaly: Sir, actually if he is a losing client he wont withdrawal, so he wont create a make up figure and he will get his Neteller fees covered.

ME: How can you say that??

ME: Can you answer my question?

ME: How do you know he wouldnt withdraw?

Magaly: Sir,, we are going in circles right now. Please call my manager and you can ask him as many questions as you want about the issue.

Magaly: For now this is all I can explain to you about it. He will be glad to explain any further information you need on the issue.

ME: My question is very simple

Magaly: I just gave you all the answers to your questions sir, if you need further explanations please contact my manager at 1-800-261-4075 tomorrow. With Harvey. Thank you.

Lots of books use a "make up figure" to determine whether you are eligible for a reload bonus but I have never heard of a situation like this. Interesting that Loose Lines would have this policy but ABC Islands (who is their sister book) doesn't, I have a huge make up figure at ABC but never get charged for deposits.

2.9% might seem steep, but that is what some of these books pay as a deposit fee. They typically eat the deposit fee, unless a player deposits and withdraws without any play.

This is the Jazz family of books. I haven’t played at Jazz in several years, but back then they were the only book I had that didn’t pick up the fees on deposits. They did, however, have all free withdrawals. It was an odd policy—creating a disincentive to send them money yet facilitating withdrawing money.

It sounds like now they’re making the customer pay their own deposit fees only if the customer has a make up figure, and only if the customer is betting at reduced juice (i.e., at Looselines, not Jazz or ABC Islands). So I guess in that sense it’s an improvement.

I wouldn’t call it “crooked” or a “scam” or anything like that. Obviously a book isn’t obligated to pay your transaction fees. It’s just a business decision to do it or not do it.

I think, in all likelihood, it’s a dumb business decision. I also doubt seriously I would ever make a deposit to their Looselines book if I had a make up figure there. But as long as their policy is stated clearly, there’s nothing dishonest about it.

I called Harvey and we talked about this. He saud they wouldnt charge their clients if they send their deposit by book transfer rather than neteller even if they have a mkeup figure. But you may want to call them to make sure before doing that!

He told me he will contact neteller and try to send my funds back to my neteller account. But I see my funds are still in my Looselines account so I guess he couldnt do it.

It ok at least you guys know about this now in case you have a makeup figure!

I didnt know about this policy. I am sure there are other clients who also dont know. But their policy is on their site so should be more careful. This is the first time I have been charged for a deposit in 7 years I have played offshore!

I don't think the book pays a fee for book-book transfers. If you're betting larger amounts, using book to book transfers can save you a lot of money.

Why pay a fee at looselines? What do you get out of looselines that you can't get at other top books?
