It's hard to tell who any of this help.
I believe the Iraq strategy has been constant overall. They're not leaving until puppet govt is secure. plus they're pushin the Afghanistan war.
I don't know how he's insuring 4 million children but he needs to push for universal health care. Hopefully by disbanding insurance companies. (of course not going to happen)
Tax cuts are pretty insignificant for poor families. They need to raise the standard deduction by like 150%, or do a sales tax.
The foreclosure thing ain't worth much either. Will just help banks collect $ they would never see otherwise. And it's too late for many. Basically you need to be a lawyer or businessman to benefit from any of this.
Obama may be better than the Republicans but he'd have to go a long way to be a hero.
Probably the best thing he is doing is taking what appears to be a respectful stance towards foreign countries. Which will hopefully lead to fewer future senseless wars.

There hasn't been any tax cuts. All that has happened is they have lowered the withholdings. Tax rate has not changed. Just not taking out as much so it will owed come April 15, 2010.

This is incorrect. You are getting an interest free loan by having less withheld now rather than waiting till 2010 to get a tax refund.

That means you are not calculating correctly how many dependents you have if they withhold less than you owe?

I mean if you are married and have one child but your payroll is withholding for 6 dependents you will get a bigger paycheck (less withholding) but you have to pay the difference when you file taxes if they haven't withheld enough. This is assuming your only income is from payroll (no capital gains from stocks, rental income, etc).

Pavy, the withholding table changed this year. The amounts for whatever withholding status have been lowered but the tax rate has not changed. Even if you claim single with zero dependants, they are withholding less because the withholding table has changed. You have the same job as last year with the same withholdings and the same rate of pay right now your check will reflect a higher net pay due to federal withholdings being less. But the tax rate for the year has not changed.
