Why is Patrick Cantlay still an amateur?

All this politically correct "it's good to stay in school stuff" is a joke. The guy is talented enough to make great money on tour and if for some reason he's a big bust, he can go back to school at 25 or 26.

He may get a hold of some psycho college girl thats screws him up mentally or he may develop a drinking problem with all the frat parties going on. Is he going to become CEO of google when he graduates? No, he'll make 50k /yr out of school if he's lucky and become bitter and fat. Why not go for it right now, the benefits greatly outweigh the costs (if any) IMO

Maybe I'm ignorant of some kind of rule that he can't go pro, in which case just disregard this thread.

He just turned 20. It's not very common for young guys to turn pro that early.

Hell be a great pro though when he does go.
