    Woods start---Bogey, Bogey, Double Bogey

    Tiger is a mess.

    He folds so easily now.

Crazy thing---I had Phil Mickelson v. Woods in a US Open matchup bet--and I thought the bet was toast going into today. Thanks to Woods, I may have a chance. Woods is now +8 and Phil is +12. Who knows, maybe I can still cash that ticket.

When was Phil at 12 because that was over an hour ago.

Funny how Phil's career is In the toilet and no one says anything about it.

    Sorry about the bet though.

And where is Tiger's career? Tiger's career goal had always been to beat Nicklaus-----that isn't happening. And it must be f'ing killing Woods to suck this badly, to continue to fold so easily major after major.

I don't think Mickelson ever thought he was going to challenge Nicklaus---Mickelson seems to be in a pretty decent place in his life, he doesn't act like a spoiled child even when he is playing badly.

Tiger on the other hand can't seem to come to terms with the fact that he is very average on the Tour now.

Maybe Tiger will fire Foley this week.

Lol fourth in the world rankings and one of a couple guys with two wins for the season is now average

Youre really beyond your grasp here. I mean you just admitted that you bet on mickelslob this week.

No denying his last two rounds have blown and he's not where he used to be but to say tiger is average is pretty hilarious.

Because World Rankings mean so much right?

I mean, isn't Luke Donald #1? or something insane like that?

The really average statistic about Woods though is how he is finishing.

Going back to the 2010 PGA Championship----Woods has thrown up his highest rounds in the 3rd and 4th round of each major he has played.

    2010 PGA---he shot a 4th round 73
    2011 Masters---3rd round 74
2011 PGA---- He shot a first round 77
    2012 Masters---4th round 75
    2012 US Open---well, yesterday was a 75, today may be 80

Look at Woods' last 3 majors.

    2011 PGA Championship---Missed Cut, +10
    2012 Masters-----Tied for 40th
    2012 US Open-----Currently tied for 43rd.

    That's not average?

I can name 25 golfers who have done better in that stretch.

    Start time also not good
Tiger is only reason average American watches golf
    ratings 3-1 when he plays
NBA game soon so golf will have 200 viewers plus the hardcore golfers

Nice sample size. Your words: "very average on tour". He's been the best player in the world since the week before presidents cup.

And again you bet on Phil who has shown absolutely no reason to think he would do anything in this tournament. I'm not gonna root for you to lose but I'm not afraid to tell you that was a shit bet. And another note on Phil....it's pretty much consensus that even with his wins, his record in majors is disappointing.

Need a huge eagle from Els here, Furyk looks unrattleable

    Edit: FUKK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, I've hated Phil ever since that '99 US Open that he lost to Payne Stewart. He just struck me as such a fukkin drama queen that whole week. The whole "I'm wearing a beeper, and if my wife goes into labor I'm leaving the tourney even if I'm leading" thing just seemed completely fukkin' ridiculous to me.

I mean, come on, your leading THE FUKKIN US OPEN and you're going to haul ass from the 17th green just because your wife is going into labor?? Get real. She was in a great hospital with the best doctors. She was gonna be fine no matter what.

FUKK THAT!! I've been very open on here about how much I love my kid, and I admit that her being born is the greatest thing that ever happened to me. But if I was leading the fukkin Open, I'm here to tell you that my intro to that kid would've been fukkin delayed by however-the-fukk long it took for me to win that fukkin tourney!! Please. You have a lifetime to bond with that kid.....but odds are you may never win a US Open.

Come on now, "The best player in the world since the week before the president's cup"? In 2011? Based upon what?

I'm looking at Bubba Watson having 5 top 10's out of 11 tournaments entered, AND winning the Masters....then there's Jason Dufner who won 2 events, lost a 3rd in a playoff--and outplayed Woods in the Masters and the US Open.

What metric are using that would make Woods' last few weeks of 2011 and the first half of 2012 the best player in the world?

You can call the Phil bet shit, that's fine... it was. And your mistaking my Phil bet as some of idea that I am a card carrying member of Mickelson's fan club. I'm not. I made the bet and lost.

I also started two threads on PT about betting in the U.S Open----where I took a third round match up with Furyk (+155) over Tiger, I lost a bet with McDowell, lost a Toms future---but I still have a Jim Furyk future open.

Tigers wins were far better fields than dufner's and in that stretch he nearly won the aussie open, was by far the best player in the pres cup and won two tourneys and had a third unofficial win against a great field and if I'm not mistaken he's one of only three guys to have two official wins on tour this year.

Is it arguable who's been the best player since then and tigers name is definitely in the mix. Should I remind you that I brought it up because you called him average?

I suppose it's in vogue to rag on tigers game when he doesn't play well.

And Lol @ fire foley. If he putt worth a damn the last couple days hed be within a couple shots of the lead. Must be foley's fault.
