Well maybe you should at least mention that before you ask wtf people are thinking taking the Thunder.

It's cool if people have legit reasons for taking the Heat based on matchups and what not but when people make blanket statements it doesn't hold water.

Lebron is the most physically gifted player in the world and Wade is a top 5 player. There is no other way a team that isn't deep and doesn't have a good coach would get this far two years in a row.

With that said, people quickly forget what happened to Miami last year in the finals.

How come you guys don't just post screenshots of your books and STFU?

Are we sure the public is going to be all over OKC?

I think there is still a lot of people blinded by the hype that is the Miami Heat.

Game 1 is the easiest game for Miami. We will discuss this tomorrow. OKC will be getting over initial nerves, Wade will have his knee drained (which will be swollen big time for game 2 which probably = miami loss), brooks will be deciding whether to guard Lebron with Durant or Sefalosha, to go small or go big. The anticipation will get to the Thunder on a stage this big, trust me. I am leaving my Heat future at +200 for a g and probably only betting game 1 of the series and that's it.

We shall get into the matchups tomorrow.

Not many. The public sides with the hotter team--they are all heavily swayed by ESPN analysts too and most of them are picking the THunder. If Miami wins game 1, then all of the sudden, everyone is on the Miami bandwagon again. As you know, knee-jerk reactions keep Vegas in business.

This is where we disagree on this series. I know you are all over the Wade knee drain thing but I think he plays well regardless. It didn't seem to hinder him last night.

Well yeah. There is good chance OKC starts this thing off up 2-0.

OKC is the most resilient team of the last 15 years. That is a tribute to their speed, their youth, and their unmatched passion for the game. Having said that, there will be several more reasons why I like MIami to win game 1 straight up, aside from the reasons already provided above that the average gambler is not thinking about.

  11. #151

I don't think OKC will be tense.

Have you people watched the playoff games OKC has been involved in the past two years? OKC has won in Dallas, LA, and San Antonio in this year's playoffs and a lot of those games came down to crunch time and OKC came through.

If anything, I feel like the pressure is on Miami. OKC is way ahead of schedule and having fun. Miami has to feel like they have to win.

    This is my prediction.

    - OKC wins games 1 & 2.
    - Miami wins games 3.
    - OKC wins game 4
    - Miami wins game 5.
    - OKC wins game 6.

Miami goes out in 6 again.

My man, the NBA finals is a huge stage. It's not the Conference finals. It's way different. They will be tense 100%. If you're a great player, than chances are you are tense in your first finals game, because you are thinking about the magnitude of it all. They will loosen up over the course of the series. Anyway game 1 is all about matchups and Scott Brooks is slow to catch on as usual. We will talk tomrorow.

Well you aren't even an "average gambler," so I don't even know what that means.

See, I think it's because they have the NBA's leading scorer, the NBA's leading shot blocker, the 6th man of the year, and one of the best defensive players in the league in Sefolosha. Did I mention that their three all-stars are some of the best in the league at their positions?

They also have one of if not the best homecourt advanatges in the NBA.

Oh, so you're not an average gambler. I feel privelaged to be in such high company since apparently everyone here makes a shit ton of money betting on sports.

Miami will either sweep the Thunder or win the series in 5 games.

Yeah, I could be wrong. I didn't say people were dumb for backing Miami.

With that said, I think the Thunder are kind of young and dumb to this. I think they're actually having fun. Also, are you forgetting how Lebron has pissed down his leg in the Finals twice?

And what is your reasoning for that?

So Vegas is basically giving you free money by having Miami a decent dog in this one?

I don't make anything gambling. I've follow the game religiously. If you've ever read anything I've written the past couple years, it's obvious I know as much about the game as a lot of assistant coaches in the NBA. Doesn't mean I can always pick a winner. LOL anyway take care I will start a thread tomorrow and write up something for game 1--not the series--and then we can discuss for an hour or so before I place a bet. But you're going to have to be thinking of better reasons than those mentioned to deter me from taking MIA game 1.

BTW, just one quick note, Harden is gonna be nervous for sure coming in, and Ibaka or Perkins (1 of them) will be in foul trouble 100%.

Goat let's not forget heading into last season when you were going to prove to us all that you were the best NBA capper on this forum and how much better you were than lakerboy.

  22. #162

Do any books have odds on how nervous harden will be? I mean maybe a scale of 1-10 and if you pick the correct nervous # you win.

  23. #163

It's impossible to really tell how nervous he is with the beard so there would be a lot of disputed tickets.

Lakerman bets hundreds of thousands on a game. I'm no where near his level.

Right but you had your mind set on proving to this forum how you were the top nba bettor on this forum.

  26. #166

So far these are the things I have learned from this thread.

    - I'm an idiot for thinking OKC has a slight advantage and should win
    - Lebron will shut down the leading scorer in the NBA even though he didn't do it during the regular season.
    - The Heat will win because they will be less nervous. Lebron doesn't get rattled.
    - Harden will be extra nervous and might shit himself
    - Goat Milk knows as much as a lot of assistants in the NBA.
    - If the Heat don't sweep, they'll win in 5.
    - Miami in game two is the lock of the century. There is no way OKC can win at home even though they are undefeated.

Lots of knowledge being dropped here.

Bigdofba I'm pulling for the thunder buddy. We are in this together. Not many hate Lebron more than I do.

I love how the Heat beat Boston in 7 games and all of a sudden they are getting all this respect OKC would have swept Boston or won in 5 games.....Everyone said the west is wayy better than the east now everyone is on Lebrons nuts cause they beat an old Boston team in 7 games

    Sweet.

I actually do like it when people bet against the Thunder though. It's actually all in good fun bumping the threads but people get so pissed off it makes it entertaining. Especially when they're way off.

As for T-Wizz, he had a nice run through the playoffs and I actually congratulated him on a lot of his picks. I thought it was hilarious when he called me an idiot when my post wasn't even directed toward him. And no, I don't give a shit about know you T-Wizz so I won't PM you. I quit hanging out with college aged kids when I graduated college but I appreciate you putting yourself out there.

Anyway, T-Wigger has been wrong on pretty much everything he has said about OKC so far so I'm fairly optimistic about this series knowing he is backing the Heat.

I just wonder what happens if Miami wins game one.

His logic is severely flawed imo. If he is so f*cking confident in Miami winning the series, why not put a bet in before the series? I mean, if everyone is f*cking stupid for backing OKC like he claims, Miami should be a lock right? If Miami wins game one, then he is just ******* himself.

How confident are you if you aren't even putting your bet in until after game one? Seems stupid to me.

  31. #171

I think Miami wins game 1 or game 2

Miami wins Game 2 (or if won 1st loses)
    Miami wins 3
    OKC wins 4
    Miami wins 5
Miami finishes game 6 in okc

Yeah, I'm pretty sure OKC went 12-3 against superior competition where as Miami went 12-6. Now all of the sudden Miami is this dominate team.

The fact that you took what I said as an invitation to hang out proves how lonely your life must be.

You get way too emotional about your team and any comments about them.

  34. #174

On paper, the Thunder should be favored. But the Heat will not be denied. LeBron is playing out of his mind and seems to be mentally stronger than last year. Wade can explode at any given time and Bosh his back at full strength.

The fact of the matter is the Thunder are a very dangerous team but are also very streaky. If their jumpshots aren't falling they could be in serious trouble. The Heat are probably the strongest defensive team they have faced so far. These are uncharted waters for this young Thunder team. They should be favored because of their advantage on paper, but I really don't see Lebron losing these finals...
