Default Nothing Like The Feeling Betting With A Local

Whether you win or lose the settlement day is like no other, nothing like seeing cash cross the table. When you bet offshore it is basically play money and most never see the cash, all computer generated.

I do beleive when you bet with the local book your bets are less and your sure only bet stuff you like.

Betting offshore it is just too easy to bet anything for action and most of the time neteller transfers do not hurt as much or rewarding as much as when you get cash in your hand on Thursdays if you win.

Most of the time when your up online you just bet until it goes to zero without seeing any cash, even when you win and cash out most of the time money left in neteller or bank.

Nothing like cash in your hand like Vegas or local books

JJ remember that time one of your guys had you dangling from the top of the bank (slow pay) and you didn't give a flying fukk if he let you go, you were just worried about your 2 dime rug getting knocked off by the wind

Compactor that was classic, the embarassment from my rug coming off would of been huge and I would of been the laughing stock of the neighborhood. Compactor no one knows I wear a rug except forum guys.

I did pay the local though but he would not of dropped me but it was scary. It is the number one scare tactic to get bettors to pay around here and it works.

JJ, I totally agree, I love the transaction day and just as you said, you play much more conservative because you actually have to think about what if I lose how much cash am I going to need to take him if I lose.

Unfortunately since I've been in Colorado I havn't found a local, if anyone knows a good one in the Longmont area let me know.

Nothing like getting paid 3k or so and then going home and spreading all the money out on the bed and jumping up and down. I do this if it happens.

Do you have "Indecent Proposal" on the tube for inspiration?

Owned the more cash you have around here the more status you have. I love having an elastic band around my cash as it means you had a big week.

Owner damn where the hell do you live?? In the woods? You need to be more of a city guy.

I like dealing with locals a little better myself. Although I won't go as far as JJ does though, and roll around in it.

Playing with locals is not for everyone though. At least if your playing offshore, you can limit your losses to what you have in your account. With locals your betting on credit, and that could get ugly at times. Even if your local put you on a max a game limit, chase mode will still come into play at some point for most people.

If you can get one, everyone needs a Local or two. Best to find one who does NOT watch DBest

I just think there are too many negative variables, like the guy geating beat so bad he can't pay you...or skipping town...or on the other end, getting into debt and them coming after you...

I do not think though you can bet serious money with locals because you will not get paid if you win, they are good for like $300 and and lower per game.

Not to much knowledge about betting with bookies high School only

I actually think betting online is way easier to lose money than if I went to the sports book, I live in Vegas and still 90% of my stuff is online. I find my self always looking at half time lines and also betting on games I have no idea about just because am bored and its on TV I remember betting on a hockey game once because it was on TV and I don’t know anything about hockey. And I always seem to make large dumb bets when am drunk at like 3-4am. I bet if I could limit my self to only betting with the sports book I would do a lot better. But like I said before I have no money management skills and bet more for action then money maybe one day I will learn.

I disagree with this statement,It's alot easiler to bet more and chase more when you are playing with credit

Pags - I like the fact that you've never used a local in your life but you've still managed to spam in this thread 5 times.

guys,

posts like these by tacomax show why he really is a stupid dumb **** poster...guys like them poison this forum...do you ever see him post any valuable info. on the industry?...better yet, does he ever contribute anything to any of the sports handicapping forums?...if you want to know how not to handle yourself here, take a look at this asshole...

also, if he followed me as closely as he thinks he has, he would know that I have previously played with a local and broke the guy, which is one of the reasons I don't play with them anymore...

So you originally said that you'd never experienced the feeling of betting with a local. But now you're claiming you have experienced the feeling of betting with a local.

What's your definitive answer on this? Want to phone a friend?

I think Taco is an asset to this forum. His posts are always unique and he provides some valuable knowledge on some books and their past issues unlike many others. I understand he rubs some people here the wrong way, but if posters like Taco and isetcap didn't post here, this forum would become very bland and boring.

There are some posters on various forums I've been on that I may not see eye to eye with, but if they bring something positive to it, I'll respect them for that. Hey, some posters may hate me here and even if I found out, that wouldn't make me think any differently about their posting qualities. Personal feelings should be put off to the side. If somebody can post something to get under my skin, more power to them. It just shows that I'm weak and pay too much attention to internet forum acquantices.

I remember the day that someone said they wanted to crack taco's shell. It still makes me laugh to think about that. It may have been IMGV that said it. Funny, after being here long enough I have come around full circle on a lot of people. Pags is one of them. He's definitely solid. Taco has always been topnotch. He just holds onto things for a long time.

As for Owned, I can't imagine anyone not liking him. I mean he's from NorCal so you know he's cool. He's like the guy that throws a cactus at a coworker's back and the afflicted turns around all mad until he sees it's Owned and then he starts laughing as he pulls the bloody cactus off his back all the while talking about how great a guy Owned is.

I'm not sure I should be included in the same company which such a respected poster as Taco, but I do appreciate it.

interesting that people like this just don't get it...

the one year I did bet with a local, I broke him, thus never experienced the feeling of "settlement day"...

I hope the day never comes when I start to follow other posters around looking for anything I can to try to start shit...truly unbelievable...

owned,

I've found you a positive asset to the forum since first reading your posts...I have no problem with people having opinions...I do have problem with non-necessary negativity...tacomax is the only person on this forum that does this, thus why he rubs others wrong...brother, I'm a hall of fame member over at covers.com and have been through hell and back there...if you make it over at covers, you can make it anywhere...SBR's a piece of cake compared to over there...a guy like tacomax doesn't "get under my skin", it's just that he turns many lurkers/ potential posters away from the forum with his antics...I can't imagine this is a goal for management at SBR...

isetcap,

I in turn have respect for you and enjoy your posts and knowledge...tacomax has shown some knowledge on the industry, but so many of his posts are strictly for instigational purposes, it makes me and others forget this very quickly...he definitely has a long memory, almost to the point of being unhealthy...I feel like one of the guys on that crazy guy's list in Billy Madison (although tacomax probably won't get this, as he specializes in Brit humor)...

we wonder why we have traffic problems here at sbr (especially when beat the prick isn't going on)...posts like these by guys like tacomax are exactly why...

That's one of the best, but definitely the funniest compliment I've ever gotten. With that, I'm off for the evening.

I wish I could take full credit for it but I can't as there's a commercial that recreates this situation quite effectively. A very funny commercial. So funny that I can't even remember the company being marketed.

We'll see you on the morrow.
