Default Pinny cancels bad line the right way, DURING game

I realized this was a bad line, so I played it small to see what would happen. The wager was cancelled with the game in progress, not afterwards as many books would prefer (I would have lost the wager, had it stood).

    Dear Sir,

Please accept our apologies for the following: as stated in our Web-Site rules, we will not accept action with obvious, gross line errors or incorrect match-ups.

For this reason we have cancelled your wager on Steelers +7 1/2 +570 2nd half for today.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Regards,

I've reported bad lines to them before and gotten nothing in return, but it's been different at other books that will credit me with a small amount $20 to $50 for pointing out bad lines to them.

bodog, greek and WWTS are good about that. I hate it when you report one and get nothing. It's like, why did I even bother taking the time. Even a thank you email would be something.

    I almost never bet them.

Be careful doing that DH. I've heard that is one of the very few things that can get your account closed at Pinnacle.

Pinnacle once told me that a line wasn't bad. I believe the over 10 was +121 and the over 10.5 was +126 for bases. LOL.

but the bugs at the 10 line were not in bettor´s favor, but in pinnacle´s... that was the difference

Dark Horse, I can concur what isetcap says. Pinnacle does not take kindly to people betting obvious bad lines. They have closed accounts and thrown people out for doing this.

If bad line don't play it. If you like the book and they treat you well report it. If you want to stay on their good side report it. If is just in your nature to help out report it.

Agree, don't screw with Pinnacle. A couple times and they will just toss you if it becomes a pattern.

I agree with everyone here about, not doing it. Small or large. A book like Pinnacle should be alerted to these lines. Just for the fact they arent into screwing you.

You wouldnt like if Pinnacle decided to just slow pay you a little bit, to see if they could get away with it.

Reward or not, report the bad lines. Thats just the way I feel.

Reporting a bad line during the small window at halftime when I needed to get a bet down somewhere else? Errrr... Nah. Maybe if I had a personal relationship with Pinnacle, like some of you probably do.

FWIW, I never expected to get paid for this bet, and was just curious to see how Pinnacle would handle it. To their credit, they didn't wait until after the game to cancel the wager, which they could have cashed. The line, it turned out, wasn't so bad after all...

But thanks for the advice of not testing Pinny too much.

I got $50 from Pinnacle for reporting a bad line about a year ago.

I've also had them assure me that a +116/-110 line was perfectly valid. I maxed it and they paid.

really?...pinny gave you $50?...that's pretty cool as I've never heard of them doing that...

I used to report bad lines , not any more. I reported a couple of bad lines, one to Gameday one to Intertops. Both changed the lines neither of them even sent an email thanking me.
If they want help a little bit of courtesy wouldnt go amiss.

I read here about reporting bad lines a while back, so I tried it out, instead of just betting the game. They told me the line was fine, and simultaneously changed it. Never again.

I dont agree that this is the best way to cancel a bet . If it is not cancelled before the event starts it should stand. If the line is bad the book will be alerted in plenty of time by the weight of money on the bad line.

It's in the rules. No argument there. Many books would have waited to see if they would win, and only cancel if they lost...

Most books can justify anything with their rules , that doesnt make it right. Betsense have a rule that they can confiscate any balance in your account if you dont play there for 6 months. They took $1800 from me with this rule.
The rules on bonus abuse and bad lines give most books the ability to do as they choose

All I can say is that I knew the line was bad, and that the bet would be cancelled. It was just a little experiment to see how they operate. If I'd lost the money I wouldn't have cared either, because my real bet was on the Jags.

VIP... actually VIP "house rules" are down for me now, so the source is Betgameday, which has the same IMO.

Legendz gave me a $25 3 team parlay and sent me a very thankful email for reporting a line that was still up with 10 minutes left in the game. That was cool.

I notified Olympic when they had Hass at 70-1 to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th in a golf tournament. Hass was leading the tournament going into the 4th round at the time. I received a personal thank you from Spiro. The top shelf books are not out to screw you. They have pro bettors betting into them. They treat you fair, you treat them fair.

What was the correct line? I can't imagine 7-1 would be correct either.

If someone notifies a book of a bad line, I think it is just good customer service to give them something. A free $50 is worth more than them trying to go back and cancell all the wagers on the bad line.

I once reported a bad line to VIP's live chat, when they'd flipflopped the favorite with the dog.. The clerk acted extremely confused as to what I was talking about, and basically dismissed me with a "we'll look into it," and they didn't bother changing their line for another 8 or 12 hours!

That was the last time I bothered reporting a bad line to them.
