I am definitely happier when I win, but you do have a point I don’t think most of us do it for the money, that’s why most of us are squares bad money management and betting for the rush not for profit. The problem is to keep getting that rush you need to bet an amount that will hurt if you lose, and that’s usually more then we can afford to lose. I pretty much look at gambling as an expensive hobby. I hope someday I can have a set amount that I bet on each game, and only bet a few games a week and find the best line with the best vig and all that other stuff, but for now I gamble for the rush.

True for some I quess. I look at gambling to make doe. I get a rush on $25 bet or $500 bet although most my bets are around 100 to 200 . I gamble to win the same as when I buy stocks or real estate. Thats why Im a seasonal gambler. After a long ncaa/nfl season im drained and need a summer vacation. So far its worked like a charm!

The feeling of being down and trying to get even is the greatest feeling in the world. I love when I am down like $880 going into Sunday nights and think of all combos to try and get out. The hour from 7:00 to 8:15PM is unreal and the rush is great especially being in the hole. I get my pad out and go over what if scenarios and will pays scenarios with round robins, reverses and parlays.

Happy Boy its all about the rush for me, if your tense there are ways to relieve it. I at times taking something called mushrooms and it relaxes me, also drink tea and on occassion to change it up a little I watch porn and get off.

Yeah the rush does feel great but to me I like the rush of my team driving the ball trailing by 6 ball inside the other teams say 35 to 40 yard line 2 time outs and 1:41 left in the game ...THUMP THUMP THUMP thats awesome especially when you kick the extra point with 2 seconds left to cover. By the way JJ never tryed mushrooms. My brother-n-law did some at a PHISH concert and was tripping.

I wouldn't mind winning all of the time...

Pags you would quit gambling if you won all the time and start feeling depressed and come to the realization that your not gambling any more but only winning. If you win all the time it is not gambling. I bet you might become a drinker then and feel depressed because you beat the game.

Mudder I swear it is true, I got to find in the theory books where it says it. I did not make it up. Let me look around for a day or too and report back.
Mudder there is some sick sense of feeling good when most gamblers lose and when it happens you cannot wait to make your next play.
Mudder when you win many bets in a row it is not the same feeling and most do not have the urgency to make the next bet.

If we only won, we would all be stinking rich. It is true that we wouldn't bet anymore, but that is because the books would be out of business.

Funny, I dont feel happy when I lose a bet. Winning at a greater rate would just make me more money, and that in reture would make me happy.
Losing....your sick JJ.

If we won all the time it wouldn't be gambling;
We would get less satisfaction out of winning, of course, simply by the way the chemical reaction in your brain treats winning gambling.
Trying to "solve" the pattern trigger release of dopamine to "train" neurons in the reward-prediction. The more trained the brain is to connect the prediction-reward the less it needs the "incentive" of dopamine.

More happy when you lose? No fukking way. Unchanged when I win, depressed when I lose. I don't know why I do it.

Ever heard of the game Hexversi? It's a variation of the game Othello/Reversi. Anyway, when the game first came out a few years ago my goal was to become the best at it. And I did. I acquired a TOURNAMENT record of 349-11 in a span of a couple of years. Moral of the story, I NEVER got tired of winning. If anyone wants to challenge me to a game of Hexversi go to ItsYourTurn.com and invite Holden from Atlanta. If you beat me I will give you 50 SBR points. If I beat you, all you have to do is give me 1 SBR point. That's +5000, not a bad deal. I'll make the deal even sweeter. You can use a computer program(good luck finding a program for this game) or get your moves from anyone on the planet. I don't care. If you win, I give you 50 SBR points. If you lose, you give me 1 SBR point. I look forward to the challenges... if any.
I should tell you... Hexversi is an EXTREMELY easy game to learn. It's not much harder to learn than Tic-Tac Toe. However, mastering it is another story.
