Default How Many Guys Shop For The Best Number?

I am too lazy to do it, if I see a +5 and even knowing there is a +5.5 on the SBR live Lines screen I will still bet the +5 like a loser I am, I am more of an action better now and love the charge/rush it gives me whether I win or lose. If you want to win shopping is a must but I truly beleive most do not do it. I only use different books as a change of pace and not for better lines.

Always shop for the best number. You are giving away cash if you don't (IMO)

LG'ER if there is like 2 minutes before the next game and I am down I bet any number just to have action on the game and try to get even, this way of betting is horrible and no one should do it.

You said it JJ, most people don't shop. So you have an immediate edge over the public if you do shop. Free money. Funny thing with edges is that, until we found out about them, we paid for them.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the margin between winning big and losing big in this business is very small, just a few percentage points. Plenty of places to cut yourself some slack, but gambling ain't one of 'm. GL.

I do to a point. Between the 3 books I have cash in at the moment I check each one to see who has the lowest vig.

One of the books I am using has a promo on Tuesdays, -105 on nfl sides and totals. If you can get your capping down early enough in the week it is a pretty decent deal. Opens up some chances to scalp and middle out some cash if the lines start changing on gameday.

In the course of a year it all adds up.

This thread might as well be entitled:

Yes I shop for numbers. Of course. It's money in my pocket. It's fundamental.

As of right I have money in 12 books.. I look in every one of them every day fro the best line.. 4 of them are on SBR's lines so I just look on there to shop..

Absolutely. I consider gambling a second job. So I take the time do anything for the extra cash.

The best number is simply overrated. It's much more important that the place where you wager has pics of hot women and some good casino and poker offerings.

Hell yes you have to shop for the best line.

I do alot of shopping with my locals, and they always seem to have different numbers on many of games. Although I have seen a few of them try to use dual lines with me in the past too on certain games.

You have to find an edge in some fashion to give yourself the best shot of winning every wager, and if it's taking a few extra minutes to do a little price shopping it's time well spent IMO

I like to challenge myself when capping so I do the opposite and shop for the WORST line. Kind of like fading the public, right?

I dont shop much cause no1 usually can beat what pinnacle offers but I do like those 16 point nba teasers. And ties are a push not a loss

A good rule of thumb is if you do not want to shop just bet at Pinnacle and you will never get ripped off and save so much time.

Most hilarious post of the day, if you only bet at Pinny...well good luck lol, you are dealing with the sharpest guys there.

As others said its like asking if you want free money for looking around a bit, or not.
Also if you have several outs it adds up in bonuses etc.
you are a funny guy JJ, but i would stop giving out such wrong advices

i played for alittle and blowdog but they stopped doing the 20% reload with a 3x rollover. Now thats a nice bonus. But they always posted LATE as lines for nba and slashed my betting limits. Needless to say i dont miss them at all considering there are so many other solid books out there. VIP is way up there in my opinion

better to have your limits cut than not be able to bet over the internet at all.

You don't need 25 books, but you need something more than Pinny. What about when Pinny has -113, most at -110, then a few -105's ?

    Taking the -113 sucks.

How about something like Pinny, Mansion, Matchbook, Skybook, and Trojan for starters, and SIA if you can deal with them.

Gotta shop and have multiple outs, it's a must! This is helpful for props and future wagers, too.

I think four outs is a minimum for a good handicapper...

If Pinny is -113 you are rarely going to see any book even at -111 and if you do maybe one book.

Even on thes sides pinny will have the lower juice at the same number as most other books dealing -110

Actually I think the question is more like

Who washes their hands after taking a leak?

Few would admit it but you'd be surprised how many don't shop for numbers

GB is -122 at Pinny, -110 at SIA, in real time.

    Even scalpable.
