i know how to play, but that's about it.
Whenever I play someone else, the winner NEVER gets check mate, the winner wins b/c the loser only has the King left, so we just stop.
It will end up being 3 peices vs. the Kings, so instead of wasting time, we just stop. That's how either of us will win. NEVER a check mate

You can play chess along Lake Michigan a mile north of navy pier in chicago. Youll be playing with bums though. They want to play for like $3-$5 a game. One tried to hustle me for $5, but he lost. I let him keep his money - you should have seen the look of gratitude in his eyes.

Only Ruy Lopez for me. I'd guess I'm around 1900 FIDE. I've played some tourney players. It's always been my dream to be a chess prodigy -- but it aint in the cards for me. Mathdotcom, what do you think of this Magnus kid? Is he the real deal? His rating has got to be about 2800 by now.

he's definitely the kid with the most potential right now, but we'll see if he plateaus in the high 2700s. He can beat up on the non-super GMs, but is not so hot against types like Kramnik/Anand/Topalov still. I think if he were a true wunderkind he'd be crushing them all by now. He's like 17 now, no?
