BCLC / Proline / Sports Action thread - calling all Candians!

hey guys, anyone from BC or Ontario who play "sports action " or "proline"? I was thinking we need to get a good thread going with our picks and insights into that system as it's a bit different than betting with the books. Anyone interested in posting their top few picks per day? I will start as I use BCLC's system, I will post as follows: team I am picking, the game # on the menu, oddset/points/over under indicated as: OS PS OU -
Also, if you are new to this, keep in mind that a NHL "tie" is a shoot out (SO) - and in terms of the point spread, if the game goes to OT and/or shootout (eg any game not decided in regulation 3 periods) the underdog wins on the points regardless of what the final score is. I find this is great for closely matched teams or when Vancouver plays anyone of the bottom 5 teams ha ha.
For NCAAB/NBA "tie" is a game within 5 points, NFL is within 3 - in case anyone is wondering what a "tie" means. I will upload a sample menu with some picks I am making tonight for reference.

Post several plays here and compare them to the payouts you'd receive betting the same parlays at an Internet sports book... And then never bother someone with a clue in the lineup at the store behind you buying some milk or chips and pissed/impatient/pathos-stricken at your degeneracy.

    You're welcome

Cool, I will try and post my plays every day. Sometimes I bet bigger on 2 games, sometimes less on a few ties/upsets. Good luck Cruizer.

Oh and I found imack's comment about the impatient people in line behind someone buying a lottery ticket pretty funny in general. I play online but I see that all the time, the guy letting out the huge sigh or impatient body language because you want to get a betting slip run through the machine. Because that takes so much more time than the guy returning 100 soda cans and buying 4 cartons of cigs that are locked in a cupboard at customer service. But, that being said, I realize the odds are not that great and the whole idea of having to parlay everything might be unappealing to some, but there is money to be made on some lines as they do not change the lines throughout out the day. For example, if D-Rose decides his foot is sore, the lines remain the same - for a little while at least - then they may just pull the game completely - but there are some decent opportunities. AND - they always pay - You probably know this, but I am just saying this for anyone who is just reading for curiosity's sake. But I will do this for a test, see what my parlays would pay and compare them to a book just for the purpose of the thread. There are sometimes some pretty juicy odds but I have not played with a book in a while.

Sports Action is shit... unless you hit like a multi game tie parlay... those can be profitable... but still very hard to hit those... other wise its worthless... like when the Broncos were winning every game by 3 they were great tie material... just had to find another sure shot tie... I came up big the weekend that the Broncos beat the Vikings by 3 because had it parlayed with Wisconsin vs. Mich St. Big Ten Championship... knew that game was gonna come down to a field goal.... but its rare that you can predict multiple ties on any given day...

I think thread is a great idea. I play proline 3-4 times a week. Here is what I do:

    1. 6AM, lines open.
    2. I immediately look for bad lines/soft lines.
    3. I grab top 3 bad/soft lines and make a 3 gamer if the odds meet these conditions:
    a) I like these teams to win
    b) the payout is greater than true odds (7:1 for 3 gamer) and have the books beat by at least 10% in terms of payout

Because the max is $100, i hit the corner store, then the gas sation across the street if the store keeper won't run it thru after a 5 min wait. Most are cool, but some have gotten in trouble before so they won't risk it again (100 is max per day if you didnt know)

Early smashing is good because you'll get the bets in before they take them off the board

I destroyed the Giants/SF and NE/BAL ties with the unders, and they took it off the board way before the game. It paid out over 25:1. Was a great day. So just be sure to get there early before the syndicates do, and yes there are still a lot. Especially with soccer.

I've played Pro-Line (ON) from time to time but it's really hard to find enough soft lines to overcome the juice.

It is now dead in Ontario

Certain combos = 'OLG Liability Limit exceeded'

Unless there is a seriously off line you wont be able to get down more than a few hundred bucks, unless maybe if you go really early in the morning (I am lazy and only ever bet them in afternoon).

Would not bother. You need insanely off lines to get enough EV to run around betting $100 a store. And even then you have to break up the tickets so each won does not win more than $999 or whatever it is.

**** I hit a 10k score once and it took me forever to redeem all the fukkin tickets. Many stores dont have that kind of cash but I found this asian guy that loved it as they got a cut, and he would keep cash for me. Should've robbed his ass.

You can cash large tickets at the casino. http://www.prolineplayer.com/default.php has all the +ev plays for the day. Some guys hammered BCLC out west when they were offering Lakers game 7 props when Lakers won the series in 6. This reduced parlays to single game selections and people unloaded on Baptista no HR -250. I've heard of store owners giving back % on large plays. Rumors of guys running 10k through 1 store but who knows.

I can confirm what Byronbb says. BCLC is easiest to play. When games are off the board, playnow online is slower to pull games.

BCLC has reduced odds on ties in basebal and college alot.

Props tends to be the most off, but maybe only 2-3 a menu now.

If you buy at a petro can and use petro points in bc you get $1.25 worth of points per $100 wagered. Even more if you use a rewards CC.

Last summer there were two props that were both injured players, and I through down $10000 on a 2 teamer, 100 x $100 tix, and freerolled for $125 in petro points. 1.25% intrest in a day ain't bad on 10k.

Hope this thread stays alive, and I will post some plays after the tixhave been played at the retailer.

Playnow does not offer props, and they have no plans to do so.

I was running tix for a friend in Ontario, when props first came out, and was running usually 1k-3k a day at a local petro can. Most I heard that someone ran was 25k on the Bautista HR prop that ByronBB mentioned.

Im not a big BCLC guy, but I've watched sports action since it arrived in 1991. If the odds are good I bet. Usually 2 team combos on college hoops ties at the moment.

olg is actually working on internet sports gambling. they want a cut on what ontarians are gambling offshore. 400 mil/year
Right now it is illegal to bet on one game. but they are in the works of making it legal to bet one game through olg.

The thing to do as a store owner would be to just book your regulars and give them a bonus.

It is NOT illegal to bet offshore in Canada pitman, no idea where you got that from. It's illegal to run a sports gambling book, but not to place bets. This is NOT the United States. Poker, sports betting online is all legal to place bets on offshore.

Canada has a federal law making 1 team wagers illegal. The provinces need federal legislation to change first.

As for BCLC, there aren't plays everyday , but u can sometimes find 2-3 good ones. My main plays, if edges are:

    - stale lines
    - college hoops ties
    - baseball ties
    - bad props(99% baseball)
