Detroit has 19 Division titles. Flyers have 16.
Detroit has 6 Conference Championships. Flyers have 8. Even though Detroit has been playing for more than 40 years before the Flyers were.
Flyers also have a better all-time winning percentage as a franchise than Detroit.

The Flyers beat the russians and won the Cold War. When the Soviet Army came to play the whole world watched because of the politics involved.

The Flyers, as an organization, have also made much more of an impact on the NHL than Detroit ever has.
You see the NHL rulebook and how big and thick it is?

As for the Stanley Cups, the Flyers have had some bad luck in the Finals. This is due mostly to having shaky defense, goaltending or a combination of both.

It's why the Pens are now sitting at home and will be watching us on TV.

And we are the smartest sports fans there are so you must have gotten that ignorant line from one of our detractors that hate us, like i said in another post there are many of those and we are proud to hold the biggest assholes honor.

The NHL was shit till the flyers came along, nobody watched this shit when the original 6 were around, when the flyers came on the scene and started winning in the early 70's they would sell out arenas everywhere they went that normally would have half the buiding empty other games, the bullies changed hockey forever and made it the popular sport it is today. Watch the HBO documentary on the broad street bullies, greatest documentary that HBO has made.

The Flyers fan base is the family's of Oil refinery workers from the refineries up and down the Delaware river most of whom live in South Jersey who got season tickets for next to nothing in the late 60's
so basically 22,000 fans(what the spectrum held) is the Flyers fan base
now that they are in the playoffs the band wagon jumpers will be out from the main line to Wilmington but they couldn't name half the players on the team
