    Default SBR Live Lines

When I first found the link these lines were great. Updated quickly, good books (most that I use), line changes with mouse over, etc.

They have progressively declined to the point that they are worthless. Not sure why.

Have you guys given up on the live lines?

hey dog, my understanding is that the lines are being updated/modified on a nearly daily basis......notice the changing number of books displayed. i think they're just kicking the tires right now, and will be highspeed/lowdrag very soon. still the quickest numbers i've seen anywhere

Kicking the tires is being nice. They have gone backwards over the last two months. If they would go back to what they had in early Aug they would be much better off.

I got that link from jj at another site and the lines were very good. The link went dead and it has been down hill ever since.

I am sorry to hear about all the problems users have been having. We did change from in-house code to a store bought component. We thought it would we better, but it seems that it is not. We are working to switch back to the old code and add in the extra books and features we came out with in v2.1

Please don't give up on us yet.

I love the lines...just a little slow loading up and switching from NCAA to NFL...but who's really rushing?

One of the advantages of AJAX, as I understand it, is that the client only needs to be updated, rather than fully reloaded. However, with the way you guys are implementing DART, each update of the Data grid updates the entire grid and is very nearly the same size as the original default.html page.

Now I'm sure you've probably considered this but I can't help wonder why you wouldn't just serve out incremenental updates to the grid with each tick, updating only those elements which have been modified/added/deleted since the previous update, and then let the client handle reassembling the entire grid each time. If nothing else, it would at the very least cut down on your bandwidth usage.

Anyway, just my 2c, and probably worth a lot less than that.

    Nah, I'm just a dilettante.

It's seldom difficult (nor usually appreciated) to critique another's programming. The difficult part is writing the code in the first place.

So lest I come off as ungrateful for what certainly anounts to a fantastic job, hats off to the SBR programming team.

No need for the disclaimer Ganchtoe. It seemed the hardest part is done, the lines were updating nice.
