Who's your 2014 NFL 'sleeper' team?

I say don't turn your back on the Bears.

Culter ain't Rogers, Brees or Peyton, but he's more than servicable, should stay upright all 16 games and has a pair of downfield all-universe wide outs in Ashon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall.

Matt Forte is a beast in the backfield, red zone monster, gets 7 targets a game out of the backfield, grabs six.
Great hands, can snap off a 40 yarder, doesn't fumble, drop passes or makes mistakes. One of the smartest in the game.

Bennett is a good TE, but they don't use him right.

Bears upgraded on defense will be much better, real good pass rush, the flaw is the back seven.

On special teams, Robbie Gould is as steady as they come kicker, don't know much about the Bears return man Spurlock to comment.

Bears key players are hitting the prime of their career, Bulter will have a career year, defense is much improved.

Bears first 8 games are a test, if they go 5-3 at the bye, the second half of their schedule and could finish 6 and 2 for an 11 win season.

Bears - over 8.5 wins is the best over/under wins prop out there

Not a NFC guy, but Cardinals and Tampa Bay have some nice weapons!

Not sure I would call the Bears a sleeper team, but I do see them winning 9-10 games this year.

I like the Cardinals to finish second in the NFC west behind Seattle and get a wildcard spot.

The Cardinals, To much weird Media focus on how it would be historic if they could end up playing a super bowl at their own stadium. Last time preseason there was that much out of the ordinary Media attention was when Eli won his super bowl ring.

I'm going to say the Lions. The reason why... I trust our new coach defensively. He wants low scoring games... and finding a way to win it in the 4th Qtr. I agree with Deuce... the North will smash each other up.

Sleeper team is Detroit... their going to find ways to win. If this coach can't do it... no Lions coach will be able to.

Ya, Lions too, Packers got their hands full.
Pack defense better be sharp because they could get lit big time in a few games.

Bears defense is worst. All the defenses in that division suck.

    You see their additions?
They are not going to be 30th ranked again, more like 12th.
    They upgraded nice.

Did they really upgrade that much? I haven't paid much attention to their additions this offseason but I see Contee is still starting at safety for them, arguably worst safety in the league. No offense to Briggs, but he needs to retire, guy is slow and washed up. Jared Allen and Lamar Houston will help but don't see those guys taking them from one of the worst defenses to 12th best. I watched their defense get waxed by Seattle in the dress rehearsal preseason game. I know it was just preseason, but they looked horrible. Mel Tucker is a shit D-Coordinator anyways.

    Their secondary is still suspect.
That's the Bears flaw, the secondary

They replaced an old lazy DE with another that's gonna be playing a lot outside in the elements. They are basically still learning an entire new defensive system.

I think Tampa is a good sleeper too. Defense is already really good, just comes down to McCown and that offense.

I thought Bears during OTA's as well but with what we didn't do in pre-season (and I know its pre-season, yada yada) - but with as bad as we were - we can't possibly be that good during season. Just watch the first half of the Seahawks/Bears pre-season game. That was 3rd game - starters v. starters and I know that the Bears didn't run stunts or any of that game but either did Hawks and they KILLED bears.

We will see what happens on Sunday against a Bills team we should kill if we have the talent people think we do - but I thought same thing last year and we laid an egg on the opener - expecting much of the same this year - Bears look too easy

Arizona. Better than people think. Battle tested in that division. Will finish ahead of SF.
