online poker is the most profitable form of gambling *POLL*

Well I agree, because I'm a poker player. and a horrible sports capper. down 1k and I called it quits, only bet recreationaly now- nba playoffs, nfl time of the year...... Since a Pro Sports bettor needs a huge bankroll to make any good living. I think sports betting is actually -EV.

hence I agree with this OP who posted this thread:http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...bling-1178627/

    What do you think?

On line anything can be the most profitable investment a sharp can make. Non taxable, not regulated and an absolute gold mine for a disciplined investor.

If you can make enough money on line to pay for anything taxable ie gas, cigs, booze; in cash and in entirety you are very well situated in today's world.

    Use the poll option

It's near the bottom of the screen when you are on the new thread page.

lol just because you need in your opinion a decent sized roll to make money from sports would not make it -ev. You demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of positive expectation.

While I am profitable at both sports and poker at low stakes - I have made a lot more money betting sports and have been able to succeed in sports at a higher stake level than I could poker.

I stopped online poker over 6 years ago when a couple of friends suggested that we play on one table from different computers....Very hard to win when your playing against 4 other guys that know each others hands.

i completely disagree, especially here in the us where it's tough to play at most sites

the easiest way to make money gambling is to take 100% free play bonuses all over the damn place, yes you need about 5k if you're making $500 deposits (in case you keep winning at one with a 10x rollover)

So I take it you guys still lost knowing each others hands? lol

If you could not profit at poker 6 years ago then you should not even be talking about poker.

Disagree. Live play is beyond awful. Online play is harder while u can multitable online u can play 1 table live at much bigger stakes with less skill

that has been long over due. It will make a lot of good players money.

The thing about online poker is it takes up a lot of time. If you want to profit, you have to play a lot of tables and a lot of hours.

I've had alot of success at poker, both online and live... I can say it is such a grind, at times, worse than a real job...

I believe sports betting has the potential to be a better avenue to make money... for example, you develop a winning model... this may take alot of effort, but once in place, this model make money for you for long periods of time with minimal effort...

also, something as easy as tailing good cappers can be profitable... minimal work, good returns...

I use to play a lot of partypoker back in the days and Full tilt before black friday. Now my question is, for US players, what is a good online poker site that has a good payout system?

Where can you even play now, for US players? All I know is Cake Poker, which seems OK, but not very many people. Hard to multitable SNG's.

Consistently winning online boils to downshifting your game from how you would play live, brick and mortar style. If you play like a bot and don't overthink and try to outplay your opponents, you'll come out ahead online. Opposite of live, NL play. Most guys can never shift gears and are online ATMs. Also, good players become bad players online because they're staring at a screen, being distracted, and many devalue their digitalized chips in comparison to real casino chips.

I started out 2003 playing cash ring games online, and at times since then I've spent most of my time at various points doing different incarnations of bonuses or promotions (casino, sports, and poker), playing regular tournaments, sngs, video poker, blackjack, sports betting, playing live and online, etc, etc...

As a specific example until the prohibitionist got ahold of pokerstars, fulltilt, and ub I was playing almost exclusively sats and step tournaments... Between lack of volume (with the options available to US players) and the norm now being to issue tournament tickets instead of cash or tournament dollars this is pretty much dead for me so I'm mainly sports betting with all of the other examples occasionally sprinkled in...

Anyhow, my point is if you are going make money gambling you have to be adaptable to current conditions because what you are doing today might not work tomorrow and probably won't work six months from now... Specializing in one particular area (especially a specific area in one form of gambling) and not having any understanding of others is just asking to crash into a wall at some point...

I netted well over 7 figures from online poker in my career. I made the switch to betting sports after black friday and the one big difference I see is the scalability of sports betting. Even good winning poker players like myself hit a ceiling online and we are "stuck" making $100-$400/hr depending on the limits we play. Very few guys nowadays can make it really far, get sponsored, hit a big score, play in huge cash games etc. The amount of money you can wager/invest in the different sports markets nowadays is significant and very attractive for any disciplined investor with a large roll.

Billy Walters. More money and less stressed than all of these poker celebrities. Poker is a grind and like they say a hard way to make an easy living.

Here is a good thread on ex-professionals that moved on since bf

    http://www.pocketfives.com/f10016/ex...nce-bf-656358/

Good insight to what it takes on playing fulltime.

And to you US players: STAY AWAY FROM CAKE!

I actually did profit from online poker,i played $5-$10 tables (small timer)but soon realized 2 important things...
1-All good things come to an end (multiple accounts and other ways to gain the upper hand on your opponent)
    2-Very time consuming

I agree with you. I play midstakes poker, and the games get REALLY tough higher up ($100+) whereas if you are a good capper, you can keep slowly betting more and more with a very high ceiling. I'd guess more people could make a million sportbetting than poker.
