    Default New Mexico State mascot suspended for fighting

    Guy was suspended for doing this...I think its a crock of shit but decide for yourself.

    jumped the guy from behind and tried to pull him to the ground by the neck. only he was too much of a pussy to get it done. sure, suspend him for a game. he could have caused some damage being so rough.

    Regardless of the fact that he is a mascot and is supposed to be a fun character he still represents an academic university and should act as such. I think he is lucky he got suspended for only one game. If I were the AD of the school I would make it so he couldn't be the mascot ever again. Guy needs to grow up and learn how to act like an adult.

    Mascots fight all the time though. Did this guy take it a little too far? Maybe. But I think he expected to jump on his back and for him to fall, when he didnt, he tried to bring him down by the neck....It was more of a failed attempt at mascot fighting than anything malicious.

    I think the new mexico AD summed it up best in the article when he said...

    "I think that the penalty doesn't necessarily fit the crime, but I am in an agreement with the commissioner. I just think a reprimand would have been appropriate, but it is what it is,"

    Was it reckless? Sure. Unnecessary? Of course.

    But mascots fighting = Always funny.

    So what happened before the video started? Was that the cowboy from the Village People? Maybe he was just looking for a little 'bull riding' fun.
