I think all coaches that knew about it should get a lifetime ban.
Were these coaches going to give a shit if the injuries suffered were career ending injuries for the opponent? Probably not. Ban these scumbags permanently. Way worse than what Pete Rose did in baseball and he got a life ban.

but does the punishment fit the crime.do think the punishment fits the crime but they didnt suspend enough guys who either knew about it and didnt do anything to stop it or the guys who tried to hurt other players for a financial reward.since they couldnt suspend every player who had were involved in this bounty,the only other thing they could do was suspend the coach

I'm no Saints fan but that is bull$hit. I think it was Whitner for SF that speared Pierre Thomas in the head last year on the 1st drive at the 2 yd line. It knocks Thomas out for the game & costs NO the chance to advance...No penalty....supposed clean hit? Now NO gets hammered when every recent hit they show on TV is cleaner/safer than Whitner's hit. The defense is SUPPOSED to hit the offense as hard as they can! You can only intimidate offensive players if one of them gets crushed once in a while.
