The August winners really battled it out this month in one of the tightest races all season. Sixteen posters finished on the plus side, but these guys held on to take the cash. manly will win the overall easy i've noticed he is the sharpest by far in the contest. I don't see anyway he can lose he doesn't make plays when he doesn't have to others have made plays when they have had a prize locked up and then say well i've never even placed in a monthly prize? looks like gift pacakages for the rest of us!

I think it's a bit premature to annoit manly the winner at this point as there are 3 others that are blowing smoke on him ... If he does win, and I wish him luck, it certainly won't be easily ... Although you've apparently thrown in the towel, I haven't, and I'm confident stump hasn't either.

I'm sure it was a dig at me about making a pick when I had had 3rd "locked" up at the time ... I'm not about locking in, you are, that's why you wanted to make a deal with splitting the top prize ... You were in 2nd with no picks and I opted to try and move up .. I failed because I made a losing selection, not because of the timing.

We all have different ideas about how we make selections and the timing of them ... You said that last month you made all your selections early to put pressure on the others ... Who's to fault that? ... Fact is, if you hadn't had a good month, that strategy wasn't worth squat.

You can have all the strategy in the world this month, but the winner will be the one that that excels in their selections and the value of those selections.

This contest was fun, as most are, and for me the prizes are secondary ... I don't do them because I need 100, 200, or 300 although it would be nice to have fun and "earn" a few bucks.

The grand prize on the other hand isn't so easy to dismiss in the interest of having a good time.

yes i proposed a deal that you were in agreement to? I wont lose any sleep over not having a deal made winner takes all is fine with me,also i just found it funny how you stated more than once you haven't recieved a prize yet almost leading the contest YTD well its not hard to figure out how you haven't recieved one when you make picks when they dont need to be made did you see manly make a pick once he moved into 2nd place? i just see a little common sense by manly thats why i,m picking him to hold his lead and win this thing as he seems to be at least brighter than me

This is getting rather silly ... You wave the white flag, declare manly the winner, congratulate him and then use me as an example of why he's going to win ... Seeing that you have already given up, I think it would have been more appropriate to use yourself as an example of why he will ... Lost in all this, is the fact that this is a thread about the August winners and no one has mentioned the winner njschimpf who was solid all month.
