People who think the President is responsible for the price of oil/gas to any meaningful level(barring a national emergency where we have to tap the strategic petroleum reserve) shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Guys, I really don't know anything. All I know, was early yesterday morning something happened. The guy was not at liberty to say. He did say gas prices would go up. The price of oil did go up yesterday on wall street. I am not sure if they are connected. My post was not politically charged at all. In fact, I consider myself an independent voter. I would have no reason to make up something so random.

I grew up in an environment which was quite negative toward others. I was able to get away from that. I try to love people now and am much happier. People are going to be different, but carrying a negative energy around with you will bring you down. Stay positive and you will have a much better outlook on everything... including your wagers. Good luck today

Gas prices and oil prices are decided by millions of events around the globe. You have no clue how it will develop. No one has.

Again, I don't know anything. I don't even know what they saw. Anyway, it doesn't really matter; whatever happens, will happen.

Get outta here with your logic and reason. This is SBR, where the POTUS directly influences gas prices and is too blame for everyone being unemployed degenerate gamblers.

Oil in the market is decided with futures so those contracts based on delivery differ a little from the price at the pumps which are set on already purchased supply to the outside tanks....I don't see it getting to $5 but low $4 is possible (unleaded of course...the rates seen on the news are always calculated to show premium)

Who is talking about having it both ways? People were dumb then for believing it, and they're dumb now for believing it, its just different people who are dumb(for the most part).

I'm not really choosing your remark to pick on you. Basically choosing your post to make a statement. If the oil market was decided by futures and contracts today... what was it decided on in 1995? 1996? 1997? 1998? The price of fuel was low. People enjoyed themselves... people could put food on the table for there family's. If people still had a bad day... people still smiled. They could travel more. Spend more. Low fuel costs helped the economy. Was crude oil even on Wall Street back in the day? I really don't know? Now, you can buy the damn stock and trade basically on supply and apparent demand? This is the add on crisis to our world today. The battery car is a great step 15 years from now. Not today or in the next 5 years. People are edgy because of pressure. When you don't have money you make irrational decisions. You tend to hate more.

Ever since the last Bush War... we had a major spike at the pumps. Citizens questioned it. There is no doubt in my mind that our government is some how getting a kick back on these fuel prices. The nation is crumbling. You don't let it crumble unless you're (government) is somehow getting a kick back. It's as black on white as you'll ever get. Pick and industry that every ethnic background uses? We need FUEL. Our cars, boats go nowhere unless we put fuel in it. So... let's raise the price and let people pay. Gas stations aren't behind it because they get a fax every night at 7PM from their distributors telling them what there bill will be if you get a load today. Well who in the hell is telling the distributors what the price is???? Ok... there suppliers? Ok... then who's telling the suppliers what to charge? I'm just saying... our own government is somehow behind this... it's the biggest cover up ever. You can't tell me the world is just more poulated now then back in 1995. I was in high school... I remember the streets were still as congested and as busy as hell back then... as it is today. People die... people are born... we all know the story. It's just sad to see our own government not doing a damn thing to help it's own citizens. You fix the gas prices... the economy will get back together. I truly believe the government doesn't want the middle class anymore. Why? I have no clue. But... you either live check to check... or you are wealthy. There are no in betweens anymore.

And yes I'm for the people. I care about people. No one should live in stress to make ends meet. Even the best are struggling right now... and it simply isn't fair. We didn't deserve this.

Here's hoping for $5 gallon gas. Even $6 would be better. It would get people off the roads and would hurt Obama's re-election chances.

Why would gas price go up if the world ends today... Gas price would be 0.. No one would pay for it... They'd just jack it..
