    Default Honest sportsbook pls?

Hey guys. I'm an NFL bettor and I'm looking for an honest sportsbook. Last year I went about 70% and made a killing at betonusa.com. I used one of their promotions (and I read the terms very carefully) but when I cashed out at the end of the season they made up some bullshit term and screwed me out of half my winnings. Also they took a little over a month to actually send me the money.

So I obviously don't wish to deal with them again. All I'd like is an honest sportsbook who will pay and not take forever to do it. I don't really mind how harsh the lines are.

    Pls help ! thanks

Here's a good place to research SAFE books: The SBR Recommended List.

For information and ratings on more than 700 online sportsbooks, go to the SBR Rating Guide.

There really are a number of sportsbooks that offer both SAFETY and GOOD LINES ... you CAN have both!

If you don't want to go through all that, I'd recommend sticking to the big boys:

    WSEX
    Pinnacle
    Olympic
    CRIS

Not an all inclusive list by any means but these are IMO top of the heap when it comes to safety, they pay fast and will let you win a good amount before you ever hear from them.

BTW Zikaris you might want to drop Bill Dozer a line about the money you got stiffed out of. No guarantee but he might be able to help you. In the past (I used to work for a site like this) we could ussually work something out with that book so they would pay just to get us off their back. Definitely worth a try.

If you want to get a nice signup bonus as well I suggest First Fidelity/youwager, I enjoyed playing there, and Nate the manager is the most trustworthy guy I have been in contact with ever in the online wagering world.

The good things about youwager other than great signup and reload bonuses are early bird low juice lines, gamblers insurance, you can get high online limits, customer service is good and friendly and they pay.

I am not a site promotor, I honestly only suggest this because I had a good experience as a customer at youwager.

Good luck no matter which book you choose

From the top 10 on that list I'm liking Bodog because it looks like it has the most simple interface. When I look at Pinnacle I'm thinking so ummm how do I make the bet.

I could understand that just looking at the site, once you are signed up and logged in it is extemely simple, the site looks different.

if you stick with SBR A rated books, you won't have much to worry about (other than maybe some late lines)...

If you select Bodog over Pinnacle, I promise you will regret every aspect of that decision sometime in the future.

Personally, I think that might be a bit overstated. No argument here that Pinnacle is the far superior book, but I have a confession to make. I really like Bodog.

Even on the sharp line set and even vs Pinnacle, Mansion, Matchbook, and a number of other books, I regularly find the best line at Bodog (mlb). I've outgrown their limits, but I still call in and place part of my bets with them often. No-hassle ongoing rebuy bonuses. The phone clerks are excellent (I've never had them try to switch a line after reading it to me which is more than I can say for some other A books).

In short, especially for a recreational player, they seem like a great book. This is based on my experiences only, of course, and your mileage may vary. Quite a few on here seem to view them with contempt, but I've never quite understood why.

It sounds like the free $50 mailer where you had to get your balance up to $1000 but you couldn't win more than around $1500?

Different degrees of honesty. Skybook may be A-rated, but I wouldn't call them honest. Not if you promote a free 1/2 pt in football (expect for 3 and 7), then hide out at -3.5 -125 when the whole world is at -4. That leaves you with the same 4 -105 that you can get at other places. Basically that tosses out the 4, in addition to the 3 and 7. Just another example of how stingy this book is. Not dishonest, but not straightforward either.

    darkhorse,

I agree that skybook borders on shadiness, but the're like a housewife having an affair no one wants to pay attention to as their rep around the net is still pretty good...not saying they're a bad book, but their not as solid of a book as everyone thinks they are...
