So are moderators eligible for beat the prick prizes?...
I believe that they were last year, but I also know that in the college hoops bracket contest, two were ruled ineligible that got 2nd and 3rd in the contest (and imgv and ganchrow replaced them)...it says SBR employees and I believe that some/ most moderators aren't actually paid by SBR...could be wrong though...please enlighten me...

As far as I know, we are not. Havent really got word on it, just the listing in the rules that "SBR Employees" arent eligible. But there is a fine line between Employee and Moderator.
John? Bill?

let them play why not? they offer alot to the site and work hard see no reason giving away 50 prizes weekly they cant be eligible for prizes maybe just not the top $500 prize as they have the most posts IMHO but let them in its a fun contest everyone should enjoy!

I'm in agreement here ... Let them play and be eligible for prizes ... I've had my issues before with rules interpretation but don't see any here ... I don't know how many employees SBR has but moderators should participate ... Should I go on another insufferable crusade? ... hehehehehehe

SBR employees and moderators AND their families are NOT eligible to play in the Beat The Prick contest for the prizes listed.
However, we have created an SBR employee, moderators and their families Beat The Prick contest and the winner at season end will receive $500. There are no weekly prizes. ALL SBR’ers are encouraged to play in the general contest with the knowledge that they are not eligible for the listed prizes. However, the $500 cash prize and considerable bragging rights are up for grabs.

From the "Fine Print" section of Beat The Prick Contest Rules: • SBR Employees are eligible to participate in the contest but are ineligible to win prizes. The mods are considered SBR employees ... assuming they continue to cash those checks with the SBR logo on the top left corner
With that said, we discussed this issue several days ago and came to the conclusion that our mods should play and, if any of them are in the mix for season-ending prizes, that SBR would reward them separately ... I just don't remember exactly what we decided on for prizes.
I'll bet that Willie Bee has those Mod-Prize details handy ...
EDIT: I'll bet that SBR John has those Mod-Prize details handy ...

Originally we had the top SBR prize as an all-expense paid trip to a free matinee show at Gruene Hall, including bus transfers from downtown Seguin. But John came through with something a little better
I've got a side bet with The Prickster for a couple of bottles of hooch. Side bets with your co-workers, fellow posters, etc., are strongly encouraged

Stump,
They can play but not for prizes put up by the sponsors. I remember when I was at TheRx bash and they had these cah giveaways and it just so happens that all of the employees won the prizes...imagine the odds of that!?
The SBR'rs are the best cappers, no doubt about that. In a cash contest, winner take all, the SBR'ers made quick work out of TheRx and Tow last year. The eog knew they were over matched and didnt show. So we will let these guys fight it out for a decent prize of $500.
