    hell yeah son

Giants... we only just won the superbowl.

Knicks... have the hottest player in the league right now in J Lin, and a lock to make playoffs. kid is only 23 years old too.

Rangers... first place in eastern conference. i dont even like hockey tho

Yankees... almost always in the playoffs every year and average a world series championship every 5 years

its not hard to think you are the best in sports when you have 5 different teams in each sport to root for, and you all do flip flop when you need to

Actually I said it was a coin flip game.

The difference between me and new york fans is none of you were talking about the super bowl when they were 6-6, you were talking about firing coughlin while I was out buying Giants futures at 100-1.

    Fact.

Z, the Asian girls must be flocking to Lin. I'll say that he will play well until a nice Asian girl gets a hold of him. Then his game will decline.

nah i live in a NYC suburb. the mets suck, they have poor management.

phillies suck too, all i've seen them do lately is choke in the playoffs.

how do you not score 1 run when your season is on the line in the first round of the playoffs??

^ This. Notice how the OP doesn't mention the other teams in the New York area, the Jets, the Mets, the Nets, the Islanders and the Devils.

The Jets who were 8-8 and didn't make the playoffs, the Mets who have also been pretty average over the last, I don't know forever. the Nets who are 9-23 right now and the Islanders who are in last place in their division and the devils who are pretty average.

So 4 of the New York areas 9 professional teams are doing well this year(and some have done well historically), that doesn't seem like that great of odds.

If you actually were to look at it, Philadelphia is probably actually the best city in the four major American sports right now, Giants Super Bowl not withstanding. Yes, I realize the Eagles did not make the playoffs, but the other three teams are better than New York's teams and you also don't have to discount half the teams in and around the city to get there.

You could also make a decent argument for Detroit, but the Pistons are awful, the Lions are only getting better and have finally reached the playoffs, the Tigers are gonna be amazing next year and have been doing well as of late, and the Red Wings are the Yankees of hockey.

Devils are doing well. Jets were great couple seasons back.....great thing about NYC when one team struggles another team picks it up.

That's my ultimate point, if you have multiple teams to choose from in every sport it should be an automatic disqualification or you should have to average them. You can't just pick and choose the four teams that are good in New York at the time and say, ah ha! this proves we are the greatest. What if someone from Detroit could pick 4 teams from Chicago and cherry pick them, or someone from California could pick which northern or southern California team they wanted. Four team, four sports, not nine teams, four sports.
