Anyone Play At Greek Anymore?
Pretty high limits
Generic Lines
High Juice
Pay Fast
Lots of Betting Options
Lots of Overnight Lines
Lousy Software
Quick Grading
That sums up pros and cons of this book

What I hate about Greek is the lack of a refresh button. Is that so hard. I do like that you can bet more after the line changes. And once I cancelled a bet I made in error that was cool. There best sports lines are for football and basketball IMO.

I like Greek.
Hint for refresh: open new tab using right clik, when clicking at the menu on the left, then refresh the page by the standard way thru your browser. Works for Firefox.

I opened a Greek account 2 months ago, I'll admit I was lured by their 21% bonus which I maxed out at $250.
People warned me that I should just stick with Pinnacle, who I've been with (100% loyal) for the past two years, because the better juice would more than make up for the bonus. Maybe I should have listened to their advice, but in 2 months I'm up about 4 units and am halfway to meeting the rollover requirement before I can withdraw.
Once I hit that rollover mark, I'll more than likely withdraw it all and put it back with Pinny.

if thegreek would have been using a dime line on baseball, i would have probly been playing there since day 1.
there baseball series price limits seem low to me at only a nickel max, at least cris has a dime limit on them.

Have never seen any reason to play at the Greek. Played bases this year at Jamaica with 10 cent line and nice bonus.

The Greek is just behind Pinny and Mansion as the only places I would trust with my money for big bets. Love thier props too.

Greek software is functional but aesthetically disastrous. It's painful to look at their screen for more than 30 seconds. Reminds me of Kirstie Allie; lots of potential and you know she can get the job done, but DAMN she's a mess.

I use a book like Greek for an option I can't get elsewhere, like action points on NBA games, or team totals on second halves, stuff like that.
I trust them as much as , if not more than any book, but I use them to fill a special role, otherwise for straight bets they aren't needed much !

The Greek is absolutely miserable for baseball betting, but I'll be loading it up for football this weekend. It's one of the few that won't lower your limits anymore.

I like the Greek. No idea why they don't have a more streamlined website, but it doesn't bother me. Another plus, aside from the ones already mentioned, is the one minute window to confirm the bet as is.

I think if Greek every had top of the line software and made baseball -15 cent lines or so there business would boom again.
The volume at Greek is not what it use to be but pay wise one of the best and early lines one of the best.

One thing that makes Greek unique is that minute that your lines is guaranteed in. It is a small thing, but can make a big difference. Obviously it invites people to play steam plays, but my personal experience is that it makes me a bit sharper, since I have one minute to reconsider and think the bet through one last time. It makes me wagers a bit less impulsive, I know I can have it at that price, do I really really want it, do you follow me?

Olympic is really missing the boat IMO by getting stubborn on this 20 cent line stuff for bases. Market is different now, if you want to be an elite book you need to be competitive. Go to dime lines, I am sure that is not going to kill them if they stay on the ball. They still are one of the best around - early to hang lines (sometimes first), great selection of props, safe as they come, high limits etc...., but to be the best you need to be an attractive place to bet all year round. Right now Olympic is only a top book certain times of the year, that's no good, us squares want to play somewhere we can count on to be competitive all seasons.

Good post Pat.
Why play there when their are more attractive prices being offered elsewhere? You don't have to beat everyone else all the time, but at least be a little more competitive than you currently are. You'd have to think it's costing them business.

Greek should just merge with Jamaica and use their software and go to dimes lines and they will be a powerhouse again.
They are still though a top 8 book but gradually sliding.

I do not like books that do not allow you to bet more at any time. Line change or no line change. All Asian books and Pinnacle are ok in this respect.

That's only partly true: Pointbet doesn't allow you to bet again on the same result if you have placed the maximum stake already.

Pinnacle keeps you from betting again for one minute as well.
Maybe Spiro is missing out on more money and customers, but I think he is pretty happy with what he does and if he wants to take a lot of the summer off and coast with 20 cent lines so be it. Still a lot of reasons to play with them even during baseball if you play props.
