Horrible odds. Wait till better ones come out or till the team starts losing/injured.

5dimes is throwing these out now for suckers.

    Different odds here: http://www.footballlocks.com/nfl_futures_odds.shtml

Made a quick spreadsheet to calculate the differences in odds to see the largest disparities. They are, Houston, Minnesota, and Tampa Bay on the negative side (your odds favor those teams more than mine, in respective order) and New Orleans, Green Bay, and New York Giants on the positive side, respectively. Might see some value there.

I don't think it makes a lot of sense to put money down on a Super Bowl future right now. That money is then tied up for about 360 days. Check back in in August, or even risk waiting until mid season and you will still get similar odds.

  8. #8

Terrible odds, nothing even close to value there.

Packers/Saints/Patriots are the best teams but the odds aren't great.

15/1 Giants will probably be a better team with a better record next year but they won't repeat.
Philly at 13/1 is a waste of money, Vick will never win, dream team or not.
San Fran and Baltimore have great defenses but they also have Flacco and Alex Smith. It's a passing league.
Dallas & Atlanta are fools gold. Matt Ryan and Tony Romo won't win a series of 3 or 4 playoff games in a row.

The longer shots I like are
    Bears 27/1
    Jets 22.5/1

If Peyton Manning goes to the Jets the game changes. The owner can say Mark Sanchez is their quarterback all he wants but if he has a chance to get Manning I think he and Rex Ryan go that direction.

Cutler is underrated and the coach is on the hot seat. If you are the bears front office you know what you need to do, bring in some lineman, receivers and a tight end this offseason. If they do that they can compete with anybody. To get them for a price similar to KC/Miami/Titans is real good, those teams have no shot.

You can win with Dilfer/Brad Johnson at QB but you need the #1 defense in the league, special teams and a strong run game. I don't think Baltimore will have the #1 defense in the league next year and Ray Ray will be a year older and Ed Reid suggested a few years ago he's not going to play until he's old.

Houston is basically a better version of the Ravens. Defense/run game, but instead of Flacco to Boldin you have Schaub to Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels.

Never gonna happen, Peyton won't be sharing the NY spotlight with his little brother, and with that mess of an organization called the Jets? Beyond doubtful, I can guarantee you he won't play here in NYC. I think Miami is his most likely destination.

Miami is a rebuilding project. I see Peyton going to a contender at this age and this stage of his career. People are throwing out the Jets/SF as possibilities. Maybe the Ravens too?

I agree that he would like to go somewhere that is more established, but I just do not see that place as the Jets. The Jets might want Peyton, but he surely wants no part of them.

Peyton wants to win. He never had a defense in Indy. The biggest defense between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady is that Brady had coaching and defense. Give Peyton even a top 10 defense and it's a different story.

Winning solves team chemistry - especially with mouthy receivers. Plax/Holmes

Players like playing for Rex, he's a players coach. Every locker room has problems when they lose and when your team is unbalanced. The defense gets sick if their unit is dominant and the offense sucks. It's only natural to get mad at the other side. If Peyton comes over the Jets instantly have an offense and they are a favorite to win.

Do not get me wrong, I completely agree that the Jets are an instant contender with Peyton (hell, almost any .500 or better team would be), the pieces of the puzzle are there and Peyton puts it all together. But think about the bigger picture - does Peyton really want to compete in the same town as his little brother, who now has more rings than him, and run the risk of being embarrassed with, let's admit it, an organization that is not run as well as the Giants are? I just don't see him taking the chance and it just wouldn't look right.

Long time Giants and Jets fan here, so maybe my opinion is skewed or biased somehow but I just do not see Peyton coming to town and competing with his little brother for spotlight, it could work out badly for one of them or worse, both of them.

I think that angle is too hyped up by the press. You could say that NY isn't big enough for the two of them, what if you said they are brothers and good friends and want to live near each other?

You could say the Jets are a poorly run organization but what about the Colts? Let's be honest here, the only reason the Colts were winning the last 10 years was because of Peyton Manning. It wasn't the defense, it wasn't the run game, the rest of the talent on offense, it was Peyton Manning period.

Afc is so weak. Titans with a healthy cj, kenny britt, the up and coming tight end, and a rejuvenated hasselback could easily win the the afc south. Get a home playoff game and whammo titans are two games from the super bowl. Give me +3500 on the titans anytime for 2013 super bowl.

I was thinking the same thing. They should be getting at least the same odds as Saints, Packers, Pats, etc.

I'm sure you'll be able to get 75-1 + during the season.

Look at their schedule. Won't be going very far.

The Titans play the AFC EAST and NFC NORTH, pittsburgh and san diego. I like the odds even better. I can see the Titans going 11-5 or 12-4, and no less than 10-6 in 2012.
