Well, all I know is this: the Red Sox better win tonight for their psyche if nothing else.
If they let the Yankees win tonight, a minimum 3 game swing from the weekend's games will be an absolute killer. The Red Sox will not win the wildcard. They need to concentrate on winning division games or they are toast.

Yankees offense is clicking and Boston has just about packed it in. New York will win again tonight.

I recall one of the announcers in the first game (Steve Phillips) stating that this was not a "do or die" series for either team, and I thought to myself, "Steve Phillips is an ignorant numbnut, and the series is definitely vital for the Red Sox in that they're already trailing in the standings. Should they get swept in a 5 game series against the team they're trailing, they have no chance to make the playoffs."

NY does not win tonight. The game is simply too important for Boston and their best big game pitcher is on the mound. Mussina will get utterly shelled.

Great effort by Schilling tonight ... I feel like an idiot cheering for the Red Sux, but things are looking pretty good right now.

You can tell when the bullpen gets going at Boston. Schilling leaves after the 7th and then they hand it over to Papelbon in the 8th with the bases loaded and no outs.

I still need NY to win, but now I am too tired to really care. I really hope this one ends soon.

Another excellent NY/Bos game. Glad I live on the west coast so I don't have to stay up past midnight.

I knew that Red Sox bullpen wouldn't let me down and with Rivera still in it's game over and goodnight.
