dan, that should be fun...I just upgraded to the fox sports package with the comcast channels, ESPNU and CSTV...not quite college gameplan but I'll get a bunch more games than I did last year...

These packages like ESPN and NFL are not really worth it because games are only once a week and how many games can you watch at once? Way too many games already on TV to get this package.
The best packages to get are NHL, NBA and MLB because it is ever night and bag for your buck it is way better.

I get enough football without it, but if you want to watch out of market games enough, it makes sense.

I got the early bird package for $109. In addition I also have Sunday Ticket. Did anybody purchase the superfan option? I know they had it last year. Is it worth the $99?

I take it nobody ordered the superfan option last year?

Unfortunately, I dont have Directv anymore, havent for the past few years. Im on Dish Network and they dont offer the NFL Sunday Ticket. So no, I did not order the Superfan option.Originally Posted by Illusion

But you got to think the price of the Sunday Ticket Package is overpriced now. Since more of the networks are carrying more games. With the NFL Network showing games this year.

i agree with the sunday ticket price being really over priced. i heard that the canadian satellite system (bell i believe) now offers the sunday ticket. anyone from canada here that happens to know what bell is charging for this ?

It is $99 extra and includes more games in HD, the red zone channel, a channel to watch 8 games at once, and another channel that condenses every game into 30 minutes without commercials. I think it might really help my handicapping, so I will probably get it anyway. I just wanted some other feedback because $99 in addition to the regular package is quite pricey.

Well do you have a HDTV? Will you beable to take advantage of that part of the add on?Originally Posted by Illusion
That puts that package at close to $380? Man, that is getting outrageous.

I do not have HD yet but will hopefully be upgrading to that in the next two months or so. Assuming I do not upgrade do you think it's still worth the extra money?

if there charging $380 for the total package. i can only imagine what there charging bar owners for that package.

Well Im not the one to watch a channel with 8 little screens of games. Im also not to sure about watching a game that is packed into 30 minutes.Originally Posted by Illusion
How many HD channels does the regular package have? With the price of that package, they should have everygame in HD, IMHO. With no add on pricing. They are trying to squeeze every penny out of the customers as they possibly can.

I'm not sure how many the regular package has, but the commercial for superfan is saying up 110 games total out of 200 are in HD.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/9/2005
Alright, I just found out the answer, the regular package has just over 50 games in HD, so you get alittle more than double the games in HD with superfan.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/9/2005
does it say anything about the blackout restrictions though with the HD games ?
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/10/2005
Well that might be worth it. Not sure how the other things are. You may just need to try it out this year, and find out if its worth it or not. But be sure to get that HDTV so you can take advantage.Originally Posted by Illusion
But remember, you will have to get a HD receiver, and those are not cheap. Unless you can get DTV to send you one out for next to nothing. But I think they charge for those things, unless your a new customer.

The plan lets you watch upto 15 out of market games that ESPN and ABC broadcast in other local markets. Yes, you can TiVo them if you want to.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/9/2005
yeah, you can tivo the games...

I just got me a new TV the other day, and got hooked up on HD service through my cable company. The games are amazing.Originally Posted by Catsfan
So Illusion, only get it if you have a HDTV. So you can get the extra games in High Def.
I cant wait till all channels are broadcasted in HD.
