Anyone here from the area. Just moved to daytona about 8 months ago and now got a job in aurora.. Anyone give me the scoop on the place and pm a good location to live in the area. Big broncos fan but only been to the airport once and no nothing about the place. Also what about poker, any poker in casinos or horseracing there

LoDo is good for bars. No poker locally but there are some casinos in Blackhawk, about an hour or so from Denver. I've never been but they just passed a ballot measure back in November raising the max bet from $5 to $100 so I imagine you'll see some cap NLHE games and some standard LHE poker games there soon, as well as some tournaments. No idea about horse racing.

I lived in Boulder for a few years. Very cold in the winter but OK in the summer. I met my wife at a local strip joint.

Mostly OTB for out of state tracks. A 3rd tier track Arapaho Park that only races a couple of months out the year.
Nice casinos in Black Hawk as Don Juan says. Limit to go up in July. Numerous poker tournaments.

Aurora is a big area but not a particularly desirable part of town. South-east Denver, DTC area is alright and it's close to Aurora.

Don't know the area well but go to a couple of Rockie games during the summer (about 6 hours away)...might have to grab a beer sometime this summer.

I flew to Denver 3 years ago for a chargers/bronco game with my pop. Nice downtown area. There were a lot of sketchy people in the downtown area. Like a lot of cracked out kids begging for money. But now that I think about it, most downtown areas are like that.

Avoid certain parts of Colfax and you will find little of this. I checked out the Brown Palace Hotel last weekend for the first time ever. More of a touristy thing to see, but be sure to grab a drink there at some point. Cool place.
