I still prefer G&J to SBR personally. SBR is great for a free product, but G&J has many other advantages... multi-sport on one page, injury news still beats SBR, pop-up alert programming on line moves etc..

One of the guys at G-J is my cousin and yes Santo it is an excellent service and if I had to pick between G-J or Don Best I would pick G-J.

G & J Lines is a lines service that cost $250 per month. Mike is the head guy and he is welcome to put a link here.

SBR is determined to have have a great FREE lines service. However, DonBest generates around $7,000,000 a year in revenue and SBR generates only a tiny fraction of that figure. Thats my way of saying we will probably never be as good as DonBest but we will certainly try...and we will always be free.(I think )

BBD: I disagree with the "just as good" part. I'm sure even John and the tech team don't think the current products are equal.

Like I said, it's an excellent free product. It's not currently a competitor for paid business for the reasons I stated in my original post.

SBR has better books than G-J, I would get rid of at least 12 books on the G-J screen as they are lousy books.

I disagree SBR are beating G&J to the numbers, at the 2 books I compared anyway. SBR also only have 12 books total, Matchbook being the most notable omission.

G&J and SBR use the same process but you may be a couple of seconds faster with them depending on your location.

All I can promise is we will get better...much better. No one currently spends more on lines R&D and development than SBR and that includes DonBest.

The other thing really holding SBR back in my view is not being able to combine sports on one page. I have a huge monitor for lines, and it makes it impossible for me to monitor all games with SBR (one page per sport).

Additionally, where SBR could really take a leap above is offering lines for sports like soccer, tennis, golf that the major line services aren't really paying attention to.

Matchbook is on the waiting list. But the product is not designed for the DonBest guy so much. The average guy simply does not need more than the top 12 books. Keep in mind that the books pay to be on SBRLines unlike DonBest. If we send them a bunch of bonus scalpers it wont help the cause. We will make it fast and sharp but there will never be a bunch of 2nd tier books and we will always be a couple of seconds behind the original move.

Thats a good idea to look at having all the sports on one page. I think we could make that an option.

The summer sports and soccer... yea there is a reason they are not on other lines services. There is no universal ROT number or way to organize them. But yes, we will have the summer sports as soon as possible.

Soccer has no interest on line services and way too many lines on each game to offer it. There are plenty of Euro line services that you can get soccer numbers.

The all sports one one screen should be an option though

2nd tier books also have no business on a line service, pure stupidity to offer 25 books on a screen.

SBR live lines suites 98% of bettors, if Don Best costs $550 per month, SBR is worth about $800 per month due to way more accuracy and top of the line books.

The 2 services cater to completely different audiences.

John summed it up perfectly... he has to keep the book happy by sending in 'squares' because his service is paid for by the book. We have to keep our customers happy because our service is paid for by the customer. He cant offer a service that will facilitate in arb'ing or scalping, and cant really have his user base killing the books that advertise here.

Having said that, SBR has the best looking free screen I have ever seen. Personally, it drove me nuts trying to watch a game on the play by play (I bore easily) but I can appreciate the hard work, thought, and effort put into the feature.


JJ, your usual rate of $500 must have been doubled over here lately... c'mon, you really think a bm back east is going to use SBR when they are catching?

The top 12 books on the SBR screen are stronger than any top 12 at any other service and the numbers are just if not more accurate.

Only a handful of books control the market and those are the must-haves. If you are a scalper, you are probably going to be logged in to the website of the book you are trying to victimize. That's the number you pounce on.

A good line shopper wants the top books and their moves. Pinnacle's dynamic number on 2 cent moves and free live lines services has forced the pace to pick up for normal line shopping. A minute delay just won't cut it anymore before gametime.
