This is not a conventional 6 or 7-point tease, this is 12 points from 35.5 (over 5 TDs) to 23.5 (under 3 TDs + FG).

Are you taking new NFL OT rules into consideration for that play?

Not sure why but Rebate Wager calls them New York Teasers. Maybe Blackie is a New Yawker?

True, but how do you handicap it now? No historical database to work with. Very difficult to assess the true value of OT, also +6.5 is no longer safe in OT

You'd be making only a minor mistake if you ignore the possibility of OT when capping games. It just doesn't happen enough percentage-wise where it should influence your handicapping.

Yes it is. There is no way to win an NFL OT game by 7 points. There is no extra point in OT and a touchdown by either team is a win.

The only thing the rule does is allow the kicking team possession if the team who won the toss only kicks a FG on their first drive.

What if team kicks a FG in OT, then on other team's drive the team intercepts and unnecessarily returns it for a TD?

Then again, NFL may have the college rule where if the intercepting team in OT already has the game won, the ball is dead as soon as possession is gained. I honestly don't know.

Unless they have changed the rules (which is possible), I don't think that is correct. I remember losing the USC/AZ St game in 1996. Final Score 48-35 in double overtime on a defensive TD when AZ State had the lead and I had USC +8. I was PISSED. Not sure why the ball would be dead. Always the possibility of another turnover on the return.

    Rulebook confirmed.

I researched it when I had Broncos +8.5

Could be true. But doesn't make sense. How can you stop the game mid-play. College plays it out. Defender would only need to take a knee.

Yeah I know I remember it well, but I also seem to remember refs blowing whistle in same situation in recent years. Google not helping.

Are you seriously buying into Tebow hype? Pats were one and done vs. good teams, they outclass the Broncos by a mile.

I do? I wish they paid me that much. All I do is send picks in, I have nothing to do with the marketing over there.

    No hype here.....

Broncos have the team to control possession with their rushing attack and hit a few big plays.....They also have Von Miller and Dumerville to disrupt Brady on offense

This is the same exact way the Ravens and Jets have sent the Pats packing last 2 years in the playoffs

The Broncos also lost 3 fumbles in their game a month ago, so if they stay turnover free it could happen

In all honesty, Pats probably win a close one

Which is all I need as long as it is not by 1. I agree that Broncos will try to eat up clock on offense and they did rush for 9000 yards in the first meeting, but I also think that Pats will have a double-digit at some point once they go no-huddle, because I don't think there is a defense in the league that can stop them when they do that.

All I'm saying is no one thought the Pats would lose the last 2 years at home in the playoffs and the recipe used by the Ravens and the Jets is very similar to how the Broncos play (Strong running game, more physical, good pass rush, efficient big play shots on offense)

It will be a great game for sure and I wish I could say GL, but I will be making a big bet on broncos +14

I had the Ravens against them two years ago and it was fairly common knowledge that the Jets had the defense to give them fits last year, so it is not accurate to say no one thought they would lose the last two years. I WOULD be shocked if they lose this game, Denver is just not a legitimate playoff team. Winner of Baltimore/Houston will be a serious threat to Pats next week though.
