Dice And Then There Were Four...

    MartinBlank
    brock
    Wrigley
    RogueScholar

What do the above names mean to you?

You might gather that all four are SBR forum posters.

You might gather that one has interesting avatars.

You might gather that the above posters are ones you consider top of the line posters, ones that add valuable handicapping discussion in any sports thread they enter.

There's a common thread here (no pun), there's something that links each of the above four together.

    They are Survivors.

They have each survived nearly a week of intense handicapping contests action at SBR forum.

Their respective teams are cheering them on from the sidelines, armed with the knowledge that if one of these men win this championship, they too will be cashing in a prize at JustBet sportsbook.

    Who advances, who goes home?

SBR moderator CrazyLou sees it like this:

    MartinBlank -540
    brock +250
    RogueScholar +690
    Wrigley +1200

It's unclear if the posted odds are for each individual advancing or going home.

Is this a semifinal knockoff stage, to be followed by the final pitting the top two?

Sorry, I haven't paid attention to any of these contests.

The odds are how I see the tournament ending.

If one guy wins, and the rest lose, he wins.

If a couple win, they keep picking one a day until they're the last man standing.

MartinBlank has been made the prohibitive favorite to win.

LOL! Thanks for noticing, Lou. Gotta keep people on their toes, or in the case of the current avatar, reaching for them.

I got my pick in first this morning, I guess we'll see whether that's an advantage or not considered today's big card.

Thanks to SBR for a really spectacular contest and especially to CrazyLou for doing such a flawless job running it.

    No.

These odds are intended for fun, and to generate discussion on how I see the contest playing out.

And, if they were serious odds, I think I'd have my linesmaker privileges revoked.

Your privileges would be revoked AND you'd be whipped with a wet noodle. Everybody who's anybody on SBR knows that I'm the prohibitive favorite.

The contest must have a winner.

    Per signup thread:
If tournament comes down to 2 players on opposite teams and both lose their daily play, the tournament continues the next day with those 2 remaining.
So, if everyone loses then everyone continues on to the next day.

Here's a math problem for all those interested:

If we were to assume that brock, RS, and Wrigley were all coinflip players, with what frequency would Martin need to pick winners for a wager on him at -540 to be an an expected breakeven proposition?

Same question for each of the other contestants at +250, +690, and +1200.

Note that we're assuming that all players choose different games.

Damn Ganch, you have a singular talent for making a person feel really dumb. Here I was enjoying my morning because I made it this far in the contest, and now I'm gonna walk around the rest of the day feeling like a tard. You're the only person here that makes me do the clueless smiley look.

Very nice of SBR and sponsors to put together these fun and challenging contests.
If Wrigley and myself pick opposite sides of the same game, then I would say were
could be called the favorites or a bunch of other names.

Im the only SBR poster to win back to back parlay contests that LT runs and I outlasted Brock in the last survivor contest. No Respect but I like the role of the underdog.
