    Default Yahoo - I Made A Mistake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    . . . AND IT PAID OFF !!!!!!!!!

I was playing a scalp and I screwed up my calculations. Long story short, instead of the original plan - which would have had me winning $40 - I won $2200. I even emptied out a book that has a nice reload bonus in the process.

Gotta do my end zone celebration!

I didn't realize how hard I should have been cheering for Colorado last night. But who cares? This morning I'm pickin' and grinnin'!!

Man it was a stupid mistake though. Unbelievable. It would be tedious to describe the details but I just have to shake my head at what I did. I really have to be more careful and concentrate more when I'm scratching out my calculations.

It would have been a disaster if the game had gone the other way.

    BUT IT DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!

Okay, sorry, but I had to tell someone. I'm done being obnoxious now. Carry on.

Give us the details. Who knows you may save somebody from making the same mistake. Plus it's nice to rehash good results.

Well let me see if I can summarize my air-headedness:

It was a tight arb involving 4 books, 3 on the Dodgers side, one on Colorado. So I scratched out some calculations for a ~$40 arb.

When I went to enter one of the Dodgers bets, the line had changed so it was no longer any good.

So that book and those dollars dropped out of the equation.

Now there were just two books on the Dodgers side, one on Colorado. Obviously what I needed to do was change my calculation/bet on Colorado to reflect the new lower amount. But I didn't - I just punched in the amount of the original calculation.

However I got lucky. I see Colorado didn't pull it out until the 9th. I had no idea how much drama I was involved in until I was doing my accounting this morning.

Thanks for sharing Mud. That's a tough one to pull off w/o any line moving even for an 'ole pro.
