sbrodds II ver 2.1 is now up!
Kick the tires for us guys. Obviously we have added BoDog so welcome aboard! There are also some very useful additions added to this upgrade. You, as in you the user, can choose which OPENERS to display; Pinnacle's or Olympics. You can also choose your own colors and if you want the sound on or off.
We appreciate your comments because we have a full time staff that wants to give you exactly what you want(sorry no lapdances though).
It's the working man's line service, its Real-time and its priced right at only $399 a month.....errrr....check that(might have been dreaming  ) I mean its FREE! www.sbrodds.com

Sorry guys... There are server upgrades going on tonight.
WSEX? Well, they bought a spot on SBRLines and gave it to Matchbook which I guess they own some percentage of. We are asking them to buy another spot but I'm not sure how that will play out. We would love to have them up there.

WSEX would be an absolute nightmare for your programmers. They dont have a non-delayed feed and they dont use international rotation numbers. I am sure your boys could do it, but barely worth the hassle. |

I just remember what we went through when we put them up. (eventually replaced them with matchbook also). Their Rotation numbers were crazy (although you can do some math on them to make them right), but even after you did that they were still delayed a minute on the XML, and 5 minutes on the text feed. So not an option for a live line service. |

Mikey your in deep trouble with G-J not because you do not have a great product but because SBR's is free and offers same exact data and real time.
You will need to reduce price

sorry AK, im going to have to boycott EOG. It looks like a nice site, they must have a graphics team, so I dont understand why they stole my SBRlines graphics. We took the time to make nice logo graphics for each book and they snagged em.

I wont lie. We actually did lose *1* guy to SBR. A recreational guy that didnt need all that G&JUpdate had to offer. I like the approach they are taking, its a great free service. Still need to fix that it freezes up my screen for a few seconds on every refresh, although them switching to DART seemed to help. As far as lowering our price, not going to happen. For what we offer our price cant be beat. As good as SBR is, a book or bookie still cant work off of it. And honestly, that day wont come. |

Well, I guess thats expected. SBR is copied by many many sites. But they should not outright take our copyrighted property. Check that the watermarks match and send them to our lawyer and they will be taken down. |

I can't seem to load SBRLines either at the moment. By the way, I really like SBRLines, and I think it would be well worth it to add WSEX.

Missing lines
Currently (6:25AM) lines have been up for some time on 5 Dimes and Pinnacle (and possibly some other books) for the Angels/Yankees game.
No lines are as of yet showing on SBR.

I will be as constructive as possible with this. I know how it is to devote a lot of time to a line service, and the reward seldom is worth the time put in.
The reason a bookie cannot use this.
1.) The lines are inconsistent. Awhile ago I wasnt able to test this because the old version would freeze up my PC. Now that they moved over to a 3rd-party control the lag is a little better, but still freezes up if you are looking at a big board like ncaa f. What happens is during their refresh you get a 5 second freeze or so. (I am on a 6mb cable line so I dont think its on my end)
2.) Building off of the first problem, some of the lines will keep updating over and over, the same line will show up in pink or whatever, then go blue, then back to pink even though technically there wasnt an update.
3.) I think this is being added, but halftime lines, denoting when a game has started, 1H lines, Hockey, Misc Sports, etc will keep a book from being able to use this.
4.) Speed switching from sport to sport leaves some to be desired. I guess you could load a couple browsers at a time for the different sports and then just click on the different browser, but not sure how the lag or bandwidth would be affected.
Now, I state these things just to back up my argument. Right now I see SBR as the best free service there is out there. And to be honest, I dont see anyone topping them as far as free services go. Although we might build a lite version like this available on the web, we will charge. You may think its crazy, but if the market is out there, we might as well charge for it. granted it wont be anywhere near the $250 for our premium product, it wont be free either. So I really dont see SBR and GJUpdate as competitors. If I did I would not post any of this. Please take this constructively because you do have a great product, and if anyone can understand the work that is put into a product like this its me. |

Mikey once kinks worked out you and I will go $100 per line change to see who beats who and we will have an auditor (independant ) administer it.
This is easy cash for me.

As much as I love SBR Odds, and as little convinced of G&J's product's value as I currently remain, you still need accept the fact that SBR has a built-in 5 second delay between client updates. This means that even if SBR manages to get line changes a second faster than G&J (itself a highly dubious assumption) you would still on average see it a full 1.5 seconds more slowly.
As to the true import for the vast, vast majority of punters? I'd have to say de minimis. |
