Thumbs down Varitek to have surgery

As some of us were speculating in the morning he'll be out at least a month.
    Tough brake for the Bo-sox.
They will miss his leadership, his game-calling and his bat. (Mirabelli is hitting .180)
Even the WC is looking tough for Boston now.
They better get it together in a hurry.
    Anyway, here's the full story.

Mirabelli has not caught more than 6 games in a row in like 4 or 5 years, so they have to make some sort of move. the problem is that look at all the teams ahead of the sox. you know good and well there gonna put a claim in to prevent the red sox from improving there team to make that streach run.

there use to be a gentleman's agreement in regards to letting players clear waivers til 1997 when steve phillips who was the GM of the mets at the time broke that agreement.

The injury to Trotteria Nixon doesn't help matters either, although WMP does bring a good bit of offense to the table.

I'd like to see a footrace between Mirabelli and a 3-toed sloth. Might have to give Doug a head start to make it interesting though.

Not only did he try to score from second but he should have been on third because the ball he hit trickled into the 420 niche in center at Fenway yet he still managed to turn the triple into a double (thanks Sutcliffe). Kirstie Allie and watching him run makes me wish I didn't have a television.

WMP already is a good hitter. He's got some work to do in every other aspect of his game though.
