Default To Canadians, sorry,we can't make it up for sports &strip joint visits. No passports!

50 million or more illegals waltzing around our country sucking off the teeeet of the land of unplenty totally being accepted and we US residents born here with clean records now need a passport to make the hour drive into Canada. It's not your fault Canada, you want us to come and spend our money there,it's our stupid government's fault that think we are up to no good where we will come back as terrorists.I'm not paying the $110 for a passport after my ancient one expired where I went to Great Britain once when it was still tollerable and where I don't want to go back again.

So now the horse racing purses will be smaller in Canada, jockeys will be out of work, hockey arenas will be less full, strippers will have less american dollars being stuffed in their g-strings,fewer lottery sports parlay cards will be sold at 7-11's,fewer people will attend CFL games,a few people at Molson's and Labatt's will be laid off.etc.

Hockey arenas are full to capacity and we take very good care of our strippers. I do hear we produce premium Bud though. And not the Bud you drink.

You must be a broke fukk for not wanting to buy a passport. Passports are only $80 here.

    god bless.

Exactly, 80 bucks for a passport to go anywhere in the world thats good for 10 years, not sure how this is going to be a major deterent to Canadian tourism, just blow the 8 bucks a year like the rest of the international traveling citizens

Wait I forgot this is BrentCrude, spend the 8 bucks a year you save by not traveling to Canada and buy a water filtration pitcher that you can use to recycle your urine when the end of the world comes in 2010

Brent, I will address both the illegal immigration and prison problem in more detail once I get going in earnest for my 2012 presidential bid. But here are rough drafts of both plans. Let me know what you think.

    Illegal Immigration/Undocumented Workers
No matter what you want to call it, it's the same thing: People who entered this country without having all of the i's dotted and t's crossed on their paperwork. I have some personal background in the issue as technically, one of my great-grandmothers was an illegal immigrant even though there really wasn't a lot of paperwork to process back in the 1870s when she and her family first crossed the Rio Grande.

The vast majority of this country is descended from immigrants, however, and it's important that we never lose sight of that. I'm willing to offer a form of 'amnesty' to those already here, but it will be based on giving honest information on when you entered and how much money you've earned since being here because back taxes will be due. This point will not be negotiable.

If you do enter illegally and are found, you will be deported -- at American taxpayers expense -- back to your homeland. We'll even give you a sack lunch for the flight/bus ride home.

The second time you enter illegally, you will be deported again at the expense of American taxpayers...only we aren't going to promise you will be deported back to your homeland. We might just strap a parachute to your back and shove you out the back of a C-130 transport while flying over someplace such as Afghanistan or the Antartic.

    The US Prison System
First off, we're not going to crowd our prisons with anyone arrested for marijuana use. Illegal distribution of marijuana, yes, but not just John Doe who was puffin' a fatty.

Secondly, we will only have two types of prison going forward: Regular Prison and Bad Prison. You will be sent to Regular Prison for any crime you're convicted where we will do our best to see that you get on the right track, train you in some sort of trade that will help you when your time is up, and provide you with adequate food, clothing and shelter. You will earn any TV or other special privileges. I'm hoping to have Joe Arpaio assist in getting all of this set up for us after I'm elected in 2012.

Bad Prison is, well, for the asshats that prove they can't behave in Regular Prison. Burlap will be the material used for your clothing, stale bread and hard cheese will be the daily fare, there won't be any special privileges and Darwinism will be tested to the full extent.

If anyone proves they can't even behave in Bad Prison, I intend to institute a turnkey operation and farm those suckers out to other countries. Let's say that Russia is in need of some financial aid from us. We will offer assistance on the condition they take x-number of our asshats from Bad Prisons and incarcerate them on their soil where said asshats will come to understand the meaning of the word gulag.

Don't be an ass I'm being serious. He had a Lamborghini and brick roads and a cabin up in the woods and we had to take a sea plane to get there and I got stung by a yellow jacket and I cried and we went to Niagara Falls and I pooped my pants.

    But God Bless.

The "main" paper (by circulation) in Toronto is the Toronto Star.

    There is also:

    Toronto Sun
    The Globe and Mail
    National Post

You purchase a separate plan in addition to the nationalized health care that you have? Or is this the nationalized plan?

I talked to a guy in Canada that needed an MRI on his knee. They said sure, 6 months from now is your appointment. He had a little money and flew down to Texas to have it done the next day. He also said there was a waiting list for a doctor in his area. They had some sort of lottery when there was an opening and the winner got the spot that opened up at the local physician.

Our health care system is a disaster in terms of costs and inequities so not sure what the answer is but something needs to change down here. The Canadian system does not seem ideal either. I don't have a solution.

Seperate, co. pays a good chunk.
Healthcare for millions of people is'nt easy.
Canada is'nt perfect but it's far from bad.
My Father-in-law spent 4 months in a cardiac care hospital and died there from heart disease all covered by our national plan.
What would that have cost an individual in the USA even with some subsidized insurance?
You can go into any walk-in clinic here and see Doctor same day with a few hrs wait. If it's serious you go to emerg, again a few hrs wait. That's all covered nationally, treatments, most drugs alot of out-care.
Leave from a hospital stay here for most anything and the only bill you leave with is for the TV. Mind you we pay for it in taxes.
Again not perfect, but having lived in the USA as well for periods, this is highly preferable IMO.

    Same here, Brent.

The days of cross-border visits are over. Too many hassles since 9/11.

Next we'll have a wall separating the two countries.

Longest unguarded border in the world indeed.
